|myra dalton|Trouble. She was just looking for trouble by parting her legs under her table as Dominic Romano stood at the front of the lecture hall. He paid no mind, not yet at least, and Myra knew it was risky.
She toyed with her hair, fidgeting every time he took a pause during the lecture.
Needless to say, Myra Dalton couldn't get enough of him. She spent too many days at his apartment, surrounded by walls of green with Dominic in secret. It was their space.
The two hours passed like a breeze, and the older gentleman kept his reigns tight around the class.
He rarely glanced at her, leaving her tense and flustered. Still, Myra enjoyed hearing his voice, his low timbre, which captivated her. Most of all, she enjoyed his passion for the subject. It's clear that he does what he enjoys most.
Despite the lack of response and enthusiasm that he received from the class, Dominic maintained his pace and managed to get through two chapters.
There were only five minutes left when Myra obnoxiously cleared her throat. Even Quincy looked over, raising a brow. She shrugged it off with a fake cough, reaching for her water bottle.
After taking a quick sip, the young woman faced the front. There, Dominic Romano was looking right at her. His face remained expressionless, and she noted the way his dark eyes flickered under the wooden table.
He looked back at her, amused.
"Miss Dalton, what are the differences between action seekers and escape seekers?"
Myra leaned against her palm, bringing her knees together.
"Pathological gamblers that seek action tend to play competitively and look for big payoffs. Escape seekers are attracted to repetitive games, and they view gambling as an escape tool."
"Good... Thank you, Miss Dalton. Now, let's-"
He was interrupted by his piercing alarm, and her peers began to pack their belongings.
The control that he had over the entire class dissipated, but it remained on her whether he knew it or not.
Dominic checked his wristwatch.
"I hope you all wrote down what Miss Dalton shared with us because it will be on the final, which is cumulative," he reminded. "The annotated bibliographies are due, when?"
Everyone chimed in with different dates and Dominic huffed, raising his voice over the movement and shuffling.
"It's on the damn syllabus!"
Even Myra was taken aback, but couldn't deny the way her thighs squeezed together when he shut his briefcase with a slam.
"October 08!" Someone yelled.
"Thank you."
Students began to pile quickly out of the room, but Myra took her time.
"Miss Dalton, a word."
"Yikes," Quincy grimaced. "Never heard him sound so pissed. I'll... I'll wait for you."
"Thanks."
Her friend left the classroom, and the door closed shut behind him. Myra threw her bag over her shoulder, approaching the podium with a small skip in her step.
