Dick out the turkey in the oven and gave himself a satisfied look. He loved Thanksgiving, as one might expect. He's definitely a thankful person after all. Artemis was cutting potatoes and Violet was helping her, it was long overdue the girl learn how to cook anyway. Artemis let her mind wander, as she usually does. She looked over at Dick and had this strange feeling. She recognized it well, but something deep down wasn't letting her admit to herself what exactly it was. She didn't like not knowing what was happening, so she quickly looked away, focusing on her original task. Similar to her, Dick's mind began to wander too. He looked over at the blonde and had an odd feeling. He didn't know exactly what to make of it, but it was still there, lurking in the depths of his soul. He didn't like not knowing what was happening so he quickly looked away, trying to find something else to focus on, which happened to be Artemis' mom, Paula. She was sitting in a chair next to Will, who was reading Lian a book. He was oblivious to the situation, but she was most certainly not. She looked at the raven haired boy and her blonde daughter, a smile playing on her face. Brion and Tara has opened the door, and Artemis went to go greet them. "Hey guys!" She waved, not really sure if it would be appropriate to give either of them a hug yet. "Hello, Artemis. Grayson." Brion smiled, his attention immediately going to Violet. "Not that you really care or anything, but would you like to help cook?" Dick asked, adjusting his apron that said "Kiss The Cook" ( Because of course it did).

"It's my first time making it." Artemis lightly chuckled, "it's good Artemis." Her mother complimented. "Thank you." Artemis giggled. Paula our down her fork and looked at the blonde, "Could use a little salt." Artemis gave her an unamused look and when Tara fed Brucely some food she snapped out of it to scold the dog for being on the table, but soon handed the dog some food of her own. "Well, I must say, my first American thanksgiving has been lovely. I'm so THANKFUL to have been included" Helga said, the intentional pun annoying everyone. "Well, I must say, my daughter does set a nice table. Something I'm sure she never learned from me." Paula chuckled. "Thanks, I had a little help. Or, a lot of help really." Artemis smiled, looking over at Dick, causing the boy to blush a little. "I helped too auntie mouse!" Lian blurted, arms up in the air. "Yes you did, baby girl." Artemis said in a high pitches voice, something Dick wasn't really used to hearing. "I'm not a baby!" Lian insisted, crossing her arms."You must be so proud of Artemis. It's not just the meal of course." Helga said, striking up a conversation with Paula. "Of course not. It's the degree in comparative literature that makes me proud. My daughter will be a college professor!" Paula bragged. "That's... Wonderful. But I was actually talking about the way she's mentored these young people. Fought along side then as Tigress!" Helga began, but was cut off by Paula dropping her utensils and looking at a shocked Artemis. "You're back with the team?! You're Tigress again?!" Souls whisper yelled , wheeling off, Artemis running after her, into the hallway. "Mom, wait!" Artemis yelled, causing her mom to turn around. "What are you doing?" Paula interrogated in a gravely tone. "What I've always done!" Artemis scoffed. "Not always! You left the life behind, then came back to it! At a cost that nearly destroyed you!" Paula insisted, Artemis cutting her off, "Don't". "Two years recovering, rebuilding! And now you have a real chance at a normal life! Soon you'll have your masters degree, and then your doctorate!" "Which doesn't mean—" Artemis tried to argue, but Paula hit her wheelchair. "Look at me Artemis! Look at your friend, Barbara! Is this what you want for yourself?! What will it take to convince you?!" Artemis have her a sympathetic look. She didn't know what to say, so all she said was, "Mom. I am helping people." "You don't have to fight crime to help people! You can get out of the life! You and Dick!" Paula insisted, cutting Artemis off guard. "Woah, woah, woah. Me and Dick?!?! Nothing! He's my best friend!" Artemis scoffed, hoping her mother couldn't see the blush on her face. "Oh, please, I've seen the way you two look at each other," Paula rolled her eyes, "It's so interesting. Seeing you be so thankful for your blindness." Was all she said before she wheeled off. Artemis wasn't "Thankful for her blindness". She knows how she feels, and she DOESN'T like Dick! And that's final.
