I don't know how to write Kaito well, so I'm sorry if he's a bit out of character for this chapter.

And needed to republish this because something was wrong with it

Stars. Right? They are all just stars? Nothing more? Just stars in the sky with their little planets that they take care of? Nothing more?

Without him knowing it, Kaito Momota was my star. No no, he is my star, and probably always will be.

But how can he be? Stars are made of gas and fire, clearly not humans.

It seems like I look at him in the halls, my eyes blind from his flashing smile. He brings me warmth each time I'm near him, or even if he's just in my eyesight.

That's what a sun does to someone on earth.

I picked up astrology just to know his alien-like words he'd speak to me each time we hung out at the arcade or just at each other's houses.

But tonight. Tonight. Tonight was different than those soda filled nights.

Instead of a nice day inside, talking about guy stuff, or just chilling, he invited me to a Drive-in movie. One of the most romantic, yet cliche, dates to ever exist.

I've never been to a Drive-in movie before, except that time I was 7, but I slept through the whole movie because it was so dark outside.

The stars would be out. Not just the ones in the sky, but Kaito as well.

I still couldn't believe it, a star will be sitting right next to me.

He said he'd pick me up at six, get me some to-go dinner from a place of my choosing, then he'd bring me to the movie.

My mom knows that I like Kaito, so she squealed with happiness as soon as she heard that I was hanging out with him at a Drive-In. She ran around the attic, looking for the nicest clothes she could find, but I eased her down to a calm state.

"Ma, everything's gonna be fine, I'm not going to a 5-star restaurant. I'm just going to a drive-in movie with. A. Friend." I said to her.

"Hush! Back in America during the '70s, being asked out to a Drive-in is a secret code saying "I like you". Now get in your room and changed for your man!" She sped out the words then pushed me into my room.

"He, likes me?"

I got changed into a (F/C) hoodie and some jeans, just some random stuff that I threw on. At least I don't look like a hobo straight off the street. I fixed up my shoes and ran out of my room.

"Eek!" My mom squealed as I exited my room. Was she waiting for me the entire time? "You look perfect!" She said, pulling at my hoodie. She patted your back. "Oh look at you! Your boyfriend would love it!" I playfully rolled my eyes at her but she chuckled. "Go and get 'em son!"

I waited outside for a few minutes, trying to scrape my mom off my back as she fangirled and told me to use protection. As if.

Kaito's car finally pulled into the driveway, and he had brought a truck. A classic Drive-In vehicle like my mom told me.

"Hey!" He smiled as I walked to the car. "Saw your mom was technically superglued to your back there. Is there something wrong with her?" A quick rush of heat flowed through my body as he mentioned my mother and what she was fangirling over.
