Chapter 13

"Thank you for having us!"

The teams continued setting up the gym for the practice match while the coaches chat for the mean time. You were sharing notes with Kita when a scene from your peripheral view caught your attention.

Atsumu is walking towards Sakusa. You heard Suna snickering at your side while pulling his phone out, probably to video the interaction.

"Oi Sakusa! We're going to drag your team to the ashes!" Atsumu's voice rang out,

"Go away. You're dirty." the spiker just replied with no care,

"Wha—" Atsumu was about to retort when Sakusa suddenly turned his back on him,

"Oi! I'm still talking to you!"

"I don't want to talk to you."

"Why not?!"

"I don't like germs."

"Are you saying I'm a germ?!"

"Can you stop shouting?"

"I AM NOT SHOUTING!"

"Of course you are, don't lie so shamelessly."

"ARGH! 'SAMU HELP ME OUT HERE!" the twin mentioned just shrugged and ignored him,

"Ah, I was wondering where the clean Miya was..." Sakusa murmured but it was fully heard by the yellow-haird setter,

"How is he clean, while I'm dirty?! We use the same kind of soap!"

"It's because you're you" Osamu deadpanned

"ARGH! I HATE YOU SCUMS!"

"Nice Serve!"

The match is now on the second set, with Itachiyama getting the first set in 25–23.

"Wow, Komori-san's so great at his digs" you exclaimed. Beside you, Kita was nodding along with what you said.

"He was one of the best liberos when he was in middle school, while his cousin, Sakusa was one of the top spikers. They were immediately scouted by Itachiyama after their last middle school volleyball game." he elaborated,

"Sakusa-san seems..." you cut off what you were saying when you heard the whistle blown by the referee. You immediately grabbed the tray of water bottles and passed them one by one.

"Sakusa's spikes are still so hard to get, but I got the hang of it now!" Akagi relayed to the team. They were all huddled in a semi-circle, slightly huffing to catch some breath.

"Suna, you must think that this is just a practice game so you are allowed to slack off" the middle blocker in question flinched at the gaze and tone of the captain's words.

"Uh, what is he, a mind reader?" Suna mumbled at himself,

"No, I'm not a mind reader. It's showing at your performance in the game." he was answered by the middle blocker's groan,

"Ya, ya, I got it."

"And Atsumu," Now being at the sight of the captain, Atsumu sat up with a jolt. "Don't start those thoughts. If you make irrational and reckless sets, we're going to lose the match"

Atsumu averted his eyes and avoided eye-contact with Kita after he said that.

"I wasn't planning anything..." he pouted,
