Trapped - A Maze Runner Storry (Newt x Reader)

Chapter 1 - The Greenie

Laid on a hard, metal floor, the newcomer started to wake up. Going up in what seemed to be some sort of lift, you tried to get up but the lift gained speed, causing you to lose your balance and fall back, hitting your head on a box making you unconscious. The lift arrived at the top and the ceiling of it started to open, letting in the sunlight. Two boys then opened up the entrance to the lift to find you unconscious.
"It's a girl," exclaimed a boy who had a strong British accent, "I think she's dead."
"Get her out of the box Newt and take her to the med-jack hut." Demanded another, he seemed to be quite bossy but he had an American accent.
"Okay Gally but first help me get her out of the box then I will take her to the med-jacks." Newt said.
They lifted you out of the box and Newt then carried you over to a hut where he then laid you down into a bed. Two people then begun treating you, trying to get you awake, but they didn't so they left you unconscious to let you wake up yourself.

Two days had now passed, but you still weren't awake. Newt was starting to get rally worried and decided to go and check on you. He walked into the hut to find you still unconscious. He walked over to you and held your hand.
"Please wake up, please." He said with a worried but yet upset look on his face.
He stayed with you for about 2 hours and then decided that he should probably leave and go to bed. As he was walking away you opened your eyes and before he walked out you asked him weakly, "Where am I?"
"It's ok, love." He replied, "You're safe nothing is going to hurt you, I promise you and I will protect you, trust me on that."
You gave him a smile and told him, "Thank you," and then you started to shut your eyes agin as you were very tired and you're head still hurt off when you knocked it on the wooden box.

It is now the next day and you're starting to wake up. It seemed to be quite early as no one was anywhere to be seen, so you started to walk around as you were very curious. You noticed these gigantic walls - as you were quite deep in the forest so you couldn't see them before - and decided to walk over to them. As you were on your way two people ran straight passed you, not acknowledging you - almost as if you were invisible - and they were headed in the same direction as you. To the gigantic walls. Just before they arrived a loud grumbling noise could be heard and it echoed through the entire place - the Glade - and then a door that was joined to the walls started opening. Once they opened far enough to get through the two boys ran straight into whatever that was that just opened. You just stood there in shock. You were about to turn around to go back into the forest to hide from whatever that was when someone came up behind you and tapped you on the shoulder. It was Newt.
"Up this early are you Greenie, I'm Newt by the way, we met in the hut but I didn't tell you my name," Newt chuckled, "I guess I was just too blown away by your beauty."
"Sorry, I just woke up and decided to walk around and thank you by the way," You assured him.
"No need to apologise love, you are quite alright to walk around the Glade just don't go out there." He pointed to the door where the two boys ran through, "Out there is very dangerous, and I don't want you getting hurt love."
"I promise I won't but what is out there, just you know if you want me not to go through there and you keep me protected," You insisted on knowing.
"Well, don't freak out, but out there's the Maze," Newt whispered, eyes wide as if he was in some sort of trance. "Everything we do - our whole life, Greenie - revolves around the Maze. Every lovin' second of every lovin' day we spend in honour of the Maze, trying to solve something that's not shown us it has a solution. And we want to show you why it's not to be messed with. Show you why them walls close shut every night. Show you why you should never find yourself out there."
"Hey, Newt, are you okay, you looked like you were daydreaming or something there?" You questioned.
"No I'm okay love, I think I just lost my head for a second there." Newt said while chuckling nervously.
"Well I'm glad that you're —"
You were cut off by the sound of the box coming back up.
"What's happening?" You asked.
"The box," Newt whispered with a confused look on his face, "The box, it's coming back up."
Newt grabbed your hand and you both ran over to the box. Newt and Gally opened it up and looked down at the new Greenie. Gally then jumped down to where he was, as the Greenie then shuffled into one of the back corners trying to avoid Gally. Gally then got in his face, "Day one Greenie, rise and shine." He then pulled him out of the box and threw him on the ground. You pushed past everyone to see who this new Greenie was. As you got to the front you saw a glimpse of him but you recognised him almost like you had knew him for years. You pushed past a few more people and then fully saw him. His name then came into your head, "Thomas," you whispered. "Hey leave him alone." You yelled to the Gladers. You then held out your hand to help him up he took it and told you, "thank you." You then realised something. The box never went back down...
