" Nezuko and I will wield our swords...and cut the chain of agony!"
I held onto those words. I am a demon, but I will protect humans.
Just like you said, big brother. I will protect humans from the demons.
Nezuko felt Tanjirou's arms began to pull her into him closer, trying not to let any of the sunlight hit a single piece of her body. But in doing so, he was letting off the demon. She noticed the way Tanjirou's eyes darted everywhere, a clear frustration on his face. He couldn't choose whether to stay and protect his sister -- or let go, and stop the demon from eating the people.
The sun might not be able to kill off the demon before he devoured the humans. Nezuko realized they were at mercy for the time. There wasn't enough time. The demon would soon eat the humans.
So despite knowing her next action would bring a great consequences for her, Nezuko raised her feet, and kicked Tanjirou off her, sending him towards the demon.
No matter what the cost is.
Tanjirou's eyes widened in surprise, his mouth opened to let out a protest cry as he saw his sister starting to burn. But then Nezuko closed her eyes and smiled behind her bamboo mouthpiece.
Her expression said a clear message that said, " Don't worry about me. Finish want started. Protect The humans, big brother. That's what we both want, right?"
Tanjirou stayed silent as he landed, his eyes blazing in determination and starting to tear up.
" Nezuko, thank you."
Nezuko thought it was over for her; sunlight began to touch her, burning and peeling off her delicate skin. She thought that was it. She's going to die.
Thank you for everything, big brother. I am sorry I had to leave now.
Nezuko glanced at the emerging sun. She forgot how beautiful sun rise could be. It had been long since she seen in.
...The sun is so pretty. I haven't seen it for some time...my skin is burning but I feel no pain at all.
She closed her eyes, waiting for death to approach. It didn't hurt at all. The sunlight felt more like a gentle embrace that reminded her off Tanjirou's hugs.
So warm...so gentle...the light feels like the embrace of you, brother. I feel at ease.
It's okay... It's like sleeping.
...Yeah, that's nice. I love sleeping.

Yet nothing happened. So she opened back her eyes.
It was...dark? But didn't the sun began to rise just now? The burning feeling had gone and only coldness filled the air. The grass she was laying on just now didn't even felt the same -- it was more like a cement floor. And instead of looking up to the sky, she was looking at a ceiling.
Startled, Nezuko went to a sitting position, raising one hand. She wasn't burning anymore. Her skin looked fine, as if she wasn't being burned alive just now. What happened?
" How...How did you get in?"
Nezuko snapped her head aside upon hearing a timid voice spoke up.
There was a girl -- maybe about 6 years old. With pale blue-gray curly hair and a set of surprised red eyes staring at her closely. She also had a small horn poking out on the right side of her forehead. Her tiny hands were covered in bandages.
The girl spoke again, " Who are you?"
