Chapter 3: Let's all go to the farm!

Monday, 9:30 A.M.

Eddie was at the train station with the friend group, with a pink band on her wrist.

"I'll be back soon, okay?" Eddie said, "I might set up shop here, but I won't know if I can till Wednesday."

"You better call us first if you can!" Izzy said. They usually would ride the train with Eddie, but their farm needed them. 

Izzy's farm had been alone for three days. That led Izzy to fear for their crops. Izzy and Salem agreed that if Izzy would let the diner have some of their harvests to supply food. Izzy could stay and use the upstairs flat all they wanted.

Eddie also brought back supplies from her shop, but that mostly consisted of decor and non-perishable items. 

Eddie nodded and gave Salem one more glance.

"Be safe, okay?" Salem asked quietly.

"I will. Now get going, don't you have a farm to visit." Eddie replied.

The Diner closed on Mondays, so they used that time to visit Izzy's farm. Izzy never really minded, but they didn't have enough space in their car for everyone in the group and all the supplies they would bring back to the farm. The groceries gathered would usually consist of ingredients to make fruit or vegetable soup, Cake, and bread. It wasn't much, but they had a lot of friends. Eddie helped gather enough money for a box truck to help carry everything. She always helped with money issues. 

Noctis ran up and hugged Eddie. She whispered something to the sleepy girl that made the girls eyes widen. Eddie released the hug and said she would try to find one.

Eddie smiled and turned away from the group. Salem could've sworn she saw a tear running down Eddie's face. With a deep breath, Eddie stepped onto the train. The train started moving once they could see Eddie in the window again; she was crying. 

Once the train left the groups sight, they headed toward the box truck.

The truck had most members sitting in the back. Izzy and Reagan are sitting in the actual truck part.

"Ready back there?" Izzy called out.

"For the most part!" Emma replied.

"Did anyone make sure the diner's sign said closed?" Noctis questioned.

Monday, 12:25 P.M.

The group was done playing around the farm.

The group was finally done getting the supplies from the farm as well. The group was exhausted. Izzy wasn't tired at all. They received ten hours of sleep last night.

"Are we ready to head back now; or explore the farm a bit more?" Izzy said.

"Can we head back now? I have a book I want to read." Katelyn said. She didn't have a book to read. She wanted the diner's cooking again.

The group piled back into the truck, but Izzy stayed behind.

"You coming back with us?" Emma asked.

"You guys head off without me. I've got things to do." Izzy replied.

Izzy was waving as the group drove further away. With Emma waving like a mad-women back at them.

Izzy chuckled when they left their sight. Emma started shouting, "Make sure your back by tomorrow! We have a party!"Izzy started laughing harder when Emma's yelling got quieter, and Salem yelled out, "Shut up! I'm losing my hearing sitting next to you!"

Monday, 11:15 P.M.

"That was fun!" Emma said as she walked into the diner.

"You almost got thrown out of the truck." Katelyn deadpanned next to her.

"Details, details." Emma tutted.

"Oh! We didn't change the sign!" Salem noticed.

"Ha! I was right!" Noctis said proudly.

Salem laughed but slowly stopped. She remembered Izzy and Eddie's departure today. Izzy would be back by tomorrow, but what about Eddie? Salem thought about it a bit more. She noticed Noctis was thinking hard too. Eddie would either be back Wednesday or Saturday. Eddie was consistent in her visiting time.

Salem thought a bit more.

Shook her head and said, "Can we throw the party at the farm tomorrow?"

Noctis looked at her and said, "Sure, why not? I'll call Izzy then!"

Emma and Katelyn were already trying to eat the cookies Salem left on the counter, but they nodded in agreement.

Salem laughed at their antics and walked over to the door.

The door was getting dirty, so she'll have to clean it soon.

She took a deep breath.

"As it should be!" she declared, 

and flipped the sign to closed.

A/N Corner! Let's try this!

So Eddie and Izzy are gone for about another half chapter!

I'm trying to get Eddie out of the way for the party. They will mess up my writing if they are at the party.

If anyone has any suggestions for what I should throw the party about please tell be before 3/7/2021! I need ideas for chapter concepts btw!
