'...I want to spend every single day hearing your voice and wondering just how, in this imperfectly beautiful universe, I ended up finding my perfectly imperfect human.' - Ruby Dhal
Five days after Yejin left their house, they need to attend one of their friends' engagement parties at one of the restaurants around Seoul. And the pair eventually showed up together, not wanting to draw any attention. It's a happy occasion after all.
Yejin saw many familiar faces, but she left Bin to talk with his business partners while she busied herself with Jihye.
'He's so whipped about you, Yej.' Jihye said as she realized how his eyes always looked at Yejin every once in a while. Making sure that she was always in his sight while talking with his partners.
She turned around and their eyes met. And he smiled at her. Which make a soft flush appeared on her cheeks.
Seeing this, Jihye almost scoffed at her best friend, 'Just get a room you two!'
Yejin laughed it off but sighed heavily right after that. 'Don't you think I'm a bad person?'
'Why? Just because you want to take your time thinking through all of this? No, you're not a bad person, Yej. As much as I want you two to get back together real soon, I also appreciate your decision. Just take your time, I don't want you to get back together just for the shakes of the baby. But don't make him wait too long, Yej. I'm sure he just as miserable as you are.' Jihye said as they enjoying the night view from the balcony.
After they talked for a while, Jihye got a call from Junghyun and excused herself to answer the phone. That's when Mr. Song approached Yejin.
A closed-lipped smile appeared on her face when she answered the man, 'Good evening too, Mr. Song.'
Hoping it will work out, Mr. Song braced up himself, 'I deeply apologize for the mess I created, Mrs. Hyun. There is no justification for what I did.' He wished that he could go back and change what happened.
'I'd like to apologize on behalf of my older brother too, Mr. Song. This all mess would never happen if he took the responsibility for everything he did before to your daughter.' She lowered her gaze.
'I could see clearly how he cares a lot about you, Mrs. Hyun. And I only wished happiness for both of you. And of course, congratulations on your pregnancy too.'
Meanwhile, Bin who previously got occupied with some of his acquaintances started to look for Yejin who suddenly disappear from his sight.
'Did you saw Yejin?' His eyes roaming around the balcony while he asked Jihye.
'Junghyun called me earlier, so I left to take the call. Let me check the restroom.' After Jihye walked away, Yejin who took the elevator caught his eyes.
He took the next elevator and barely got to follow her from behind quietly to the main busy street.
Not knowing that her husband watched her closely from across the street, Yejin took a walk slowly to ease the nauseous feeling from her stomach. A waiter offered her a tray of fresh oysters earlier and it made her want to throw up all of sudden. Seems like Tadpole really hates those kinds of seafood like clams and oysters.
As she walks, she kept thinking about what Jihye and Mr. Song has said about Bin. A part of her just wants to end all of this misery as she feels that the three of them deserve happiness after all that happened. But at the same time this another part of her kept saying that it's selfish of her to do that.
Occupied with her thoughts, unconsciously she already walked for fifteen minutes straight and her legs started to feel sore. Yejin decided to take a break and sit on a bench at a bus stop when she heard a sprinkling sound of rain. Great! Now I'm stuck here, she thought.
