Chapter 1

Y/n pov:

I woke up to my alarm going off and I groaned, got up took a shower and headed downstairs to make myself breakfast

"Good morning honey" my mom said cheerfully as I walked into the kitchen

"Morning" I said giving her a side hug and pulling the box of poptarts out of one of the cupboards

I heard little footsteps racing down the stairs as I put my poptarts in the toaster and a few seconds later I saw my little brother Aiden run into the kitchen

"Hi mom, hi y/n" he said out of breath

"Good morning sweetie" my mom said looking down at him

"Hey buddy" I said ruffling his hair

Even though my brother was a lot younger than me we were still pretty close

~time skip to school~

Y/n pov:

Once I parked in the parking lot and started walking into school and I saw my best friend Ellie running up to me so I opened my arms for a hug and she ran into them

"Geez, it was only a week since I last saw you"

"Yeah but you know I have seperation anxiety"

"That's true"

"So how was Montana?" she asked finally letting go of me

"It was pretty boring not gonna lie"

"Well did anything at all happen?" she asked as a joke

"Not really, I just stared at a wall for the past week... no, I helped my grandparents with the farm chores because ya know they're old and wrinkly so they can't do it themselves" I said starting to head for my locker

"I thought that you were having fun though, I mean at least that's what you said on your snapchat story"

"Ok yeah when I was driving the tractor around that was fun but the rest, not so much"

"That's fair I guess"

"What did you do over the break?" I asked her

"Nothing really, mostly just sitting in my room on my phone"

"That sounds depressing"

"Yeah it kinda was..."

"Ok, is it just me or is it super weird that they gave us a week break between Thanksgiving and Christmas?"

"Yeah, like we already have like 3 weeks off with Thanksgiving and Christmas so why add another week off, I mean I'm not complaining but it's kinda weird"

~time skip to after lunch~

Y/n pov:

I started walking to my next class with Ellie and we passed a bunch of people including Anna in the hallway. Anna's parents and my parents are really good friends so we hang out a lot. It's not that we don't like each other it's just that we're forced to hang out, and our parents think we're super close as well so they'll just bring me along everywhere Anna and her family are going.

"Hey Anna" I said as we walked past her

"Hi"

That's usually all I hear from her on a regular day because we don't have any classes together even though we're both seniors so I basically just see her in the hallway

"Ayo not gonna lie-" Ellie started as Anna was out of earshot

"-you two would look good together"

"Ew no she's my friend and our parents are inseperable"

"Ok and?"

"Also, do you know how homophobic this school is? Plus I'm pretty sure she's straight"

"Fine I give up-"

"Wait a second I have another point... her parents literally call me 'rent-a-sis' because we are together so much and they consider me their other daughter I guess"

"Alright but I stand by my point that you two would be cute together"

"Also, I honestly don't think she's straight" she whispered

"I think she is but you can think whatever you want I guess"

lol i hope you guys enjoy this book bc its kinda my life rn. actually my friend said that she thought my crush wasn't straight and im just like 'miss girl i wish' don't forget to eat and drink water today loves <33
