Chapter 16: The Things We Do To The People We Love

Milly's P.O.V.

"So, I think you guys did good, but you stare at each other too much," Simon says, smiling. The crowd makes an 'oooh' sound, causing me to go beet red. Harry chuckles, running his hands through his curls. I hand my microphone to the stage hand and pull my ruffled dress down a bit.

"I think you guys did great. The vocals matched perfectly, the dance was perfect, the clothes matched the candy scenery. Overall fantastic. Your voice harmonize together like yourselves," Mariah said, winking. The looked down, covering up my blush.

"Yes, I just had a problem with the vocals towards the end. You guys had a little trouble matching your voices. But I think it was great watching you two perform." L.A. added. I nodded my head, looking at Harry nervously.

"I agree with Mariah, you two did great and look adorable on the same stage," Britney smiled. The crowd once again burst into wails from hopeless romantics and hard-core shippers. I leaned against Harry, letting my hair cover my face.

Finally, we were ushered off the candy stage, high-fiving the fans near us. As we walked to our dressing room, my head began throbbing. I shut my eyes and continued walking. We neared our dressing room. I walked over to the clothing rack and found a nice outfit.

"I think we nailed it," Harry commented once I came out of the bathroom. I chuckled, folding the dress and placing it under the shoes. I took off all the jewelry and set it on top. I pulled at the bottom of my green dress, making it more comfortable. Harry eyed me. "Where are we going now?"

"We're supposed to head over to a radio station. The rest of the boys went other times. I think we're the last ones. Then we have to go to this party at this club with the rest of the contestants." I answered, slipping on peach colored flats.

I checked my dress out in the mirror. It was an emerald colored dress with a emerald bow around the waist. Near the bottom, a peach colored design went around the dress. The top was heart shaped, embroidered in more peach design. The straps were very thin, almost unnoticeable.

"Is this good enough?" I asked Harry, who had just come out of the bathroom in a new outfit. He folded up his last outfit and placed it beside my own folded up one. Quickly scanning my eyes over his body, I turned back to the mirror.

"Yeah, it looks nice." I nodded my head and picked up my cell phone, stuffing it in a peach colored clutch. I hid my heart and arrow necklace in my dress, tucking it in as best as I could. Harry fixed his T-shirt and turned towards me.

"...Milly?" Harry suddenly asked. I raised an eyebrow, turning down the corridor.

"Yeah, Haz?" I asked, stepping out onto the parking lot.

   "Nevermind," Harry mumbled.

"C'mon, tell me." I nudged his side.

    "No, it's nothing," Harry said.

   "Tell me, please?" I begged.

"No, just drop it, Milly," Harry said, trying to escape the conversation. I pouted.

"Meanie. And I thought we was friends," I murmured, crossing my arms.

"Do you really want to know?" Harry asked, raising his eyebrows.

"No, I just like arguing," I sarcastically replied.

"Fine! I was just gonna ask if I could hold your hand! Is that what you wanted to hear?" Harry exploded, turning beet red and silent afterwards. I also turned tomato red, watching as he hung his head low, embarrassment in his eyes.
