Lewis's POV.
We were surrounded! The captain walked between two guards.
"You're not Sargent Elephant Nutsack! He was lying unconscious in the cell that you all escaped from!" A guard yelled at James. The captain turned to face me.
"You can't live, Capaldi! Stop trying to hide." He exclaimed.
I sighed, I turned to face Brittany, who looked ready to cry. To face Niall, who looked the same as Brittany. To Camila. Who had her arms gripped onto Niall for comfort. To James, who looked at me with his sad eyes. The blue sad eyes.
I knew what I had to do to save everyone else...
"W-would you accept a deal?..." I stuttered. The captain raised one eyebrow.
"What kind of deal?" He questioned. Once I tell them, there's no turning back.
"If you let everyone live and bring back those who have died... I will surrender my life." I looked down at my hands, they were shaking in anxiety.
"Lewis! No!!!" Brittany called out.
"Brittany, it's for the best. It's either I die, or the both of us..."
"But I can't let you go!" She wrapped herself in my arms, I kissed her forehead, then I turned to face the captain.
"So... Will you accept?" I asked softly. He sighed,
"If you would actually do it, then I will do what you ask. If you do it, I will also put a stop to the game. I admire your bravery, Capaldi." He said.
I was shocked. He would actually put an end to the game... Forever??
"Then it's settled." I said. Brittany grabbed my arm and turned me to face her.
"Please Lewis! Don't go, I can't live without you." She sobbed.
"Hey, it's going to be alright. I'll still be here, even though I'm not physically there." I smiled. Suddenly, everyone starts to walk in.
Billie looked at me, she looked pretty mad.
"What's going on?? Are we all going to die or something?" She asked. I took the initiative to tell them...
"Guys, vote me out. All of you will live, those who have previously died will be revived, and the game will be completely done with, for good." Everyone started cheering, then Ed said spoke up.
"What about you?"
I stood silent. Everyone stopped cheering. Some made sad looks.
"I'll be fine." I said.
As voting time began, everyone pulled out their voting devices... I just hope they vote for me...
The final seconds of voting time go by like a school hour. It felt like forever, I just want it all to end.
"All votes have been casted... Lewis had the most votes." I gave one more shy smile.
"Thank you." I said. I walked closer to the captain. "Hit me."
He pulled out the needle he used to kill Shawn. I felt it touch my arm. My vision blurred when I looked at Brittany, who's hands were covering her eyes.
I felt limp. I gave one last smile, as I said.
"Niall, protect Brittany for me... Please..."
Brittany's POV.
"LEWIS PLEASE!!! NO!!!" I called out. I watched as he fell to the ground, lifeless. I collapsed down to my knees.
The captain walked closer to me,
"Well well well, didn't think he'd have the guts. Never let it be said that I'm not a man of my word. You're all free for good!
Justin, Ariana, Charlie, Shawn, and Harry walked into the room.
"SHAWNEE!!!" Camila called out to her loved one. I wish I could do the same.
Harry looked at me with guilt in his eyes
"Where's Lewis?..." He asked. I pointed to him as he lay dead on the ground.
Harry looked at Lewis, then back at me.
"I'm... So sorry....." He said..
"Who... Who was the assassin." I heard Billie ask.
I raised my hand...
"Muffin man?"
Demi raised her hand.
"Detective..."
Ed raised his hand.
"Brittany... We better go..." Shawn said.
"No! I can't leave his side! I won't!" I shouted.
"H-he's gone... There's nothing we can do now..." Camila quivered.
"I'll be there in a minute....." I sighed.
I knelt down, ran my fingers through Lewis's dirty blond hair, and kissed his soft lips... One last time.
"I'll always love you...." I said. As I slowly walked away, not turning my back.
