A time will come when your faith will be tested. Mine came rather too soon.

My name is Brittany witherspoon, I'm fifteen. I attend Crossword high school in Texas. And Yeah, I'm from Texas. I live with my parents. I don't have siblings, well, because my parents decided that they were not going to have a second child, but, I'm still praying to God for a little sis, and I know I'd be carrying her in my arms very soon.

Monday, 17th October 2018 was a fierce kind of day. It was a day which heralded a chain of events destined to bring about my worst nightmare. My dad's death.

Watching my dad lay on the hospital bed with no heartbeat, no pulse, was so disheartening. I watched as my mother, paced the ward, with her hands clasped together in prayer. I sat there looking at his lifeless body, my eyes were red from crying all night. I began to wonder, why he had to leave this soon, I was so shattered." Why did God have to take him away from us now" I griped. Slowly, I began to fall away from the faith. The devil was right there, of course, bringing to my remembrance all the doubt and unbelief I had ever heard. He told me that miracles and raising of the dead had been done away with ( fortunately, I couldn't remember ever hearing that miracles had been done away with). I also, had to struggle with the truth; that God could raise him from the dead if he wanted to. (This, however, was an even bigger insult to God, than saying he couldn't).

Just then, the doctor came in, with the nurses behind, following him closely.

It seemed like they were new employees. "Good day ma'am. You have to leave this ward." He said. With a cracked voice. The nurses stood on both sides of the bed, with something that looked like a small tray on their hands. I couldn't tell what was on their tray. I was too devasted to even notice what they were carrying.

My mum walked towards the doctor. "Okay, please just give us
few minutes." She said in a near whisper. Cleaning her eyes with a small tissue.

"Okay Ma'am, I'm so sorry for your loss once again." He said.

"He's not dead, he's only sleeping doctor."

She said. Keenly examining his body.

"But Ma'am------".

"He's only sleeping, he's not dead okay!" She uttered, through clenched teeth, at the same time Pointing at him.

I looked at the doctor, and I saw pity in his eyes. I watched him leave the ward shaking his head. The nurses followed behind.

My mum slowly walked up to me."Brittany, let's go home."She managed to speak.

"He's dead mum." I said softly. Fixing my eyes on her.

"He's not dead Brittany, It's not over yet. God is not done yet. Now, let's go home honey, we will come back tomorrow to check on your father, come on." She held out her hand. Slowly blinking her lashes.

"But, I wanna stay here. I want to stay here with Dad. I don't wanna go home! Not now!" I wailed.

"We can't stay here, you heard what the doctor said, we have to go." She sniffled.

I took her hand. As I scrambled to my feet. She held me in her right arm, as we both walked out of the ward.

As we walked out of the hospital, I saw a man helping his pregnant wife out of a car. His wife was screaming at the top of her voice, tugging at his cloth. It was time for delivery, I thought. Immediately, the nurses rushed out , another nurse rushed out afterwards with a stretcher. They carefully carried the pregnant woman on to the stretcher.

Then, I saw another man standing beside the car. He had on a plain white robe, and brown sandals, which disappeared under the robe. He didn't look like every other normal person I saw. He looked quite strange. I thought my eyes were failing me.

"Mum, can you see that man?" I whimpered. Pointing to the man.

"What man? There's no man standing there Brittany, come on now, get into the car."

I finally realized that I was the only one seeing him. He just stood there, looking at me.

With love in his eyes. He looked like he wanted to tell me something. Something important. Something I had forgotten.

"Brittany, let's go now!"
"Okay, mum." I said. As I walked to the car. I turned back, only to find out that he was no longer there. "Where did he go?" I mumbled, as I climbed into the car.
