(Finally! A new update!)

Eric looked down at his suit, and let out a solemn sigh.

He never thought things would end up like this. He never thought he would be in this situation with the person who he used to think was his soulmate.

Every time he thought of you, it brought back a smile because of the memories. But it also brought back pain because of those same memories.

Thinking about your smile made his heart ache.

Thinking about your touch made the hairs of his skin stand.

Reminiscing about your voice made his heart drop, because he wasn't able to hear it anymore. At least not how he wanted to hear it.

But as much as he hated the feeling attached to thinking about you, he couldn't stop. Because he loved you. He always had. But you were gone. If only he had chased you more, and not had given up so easily. And tried his very best to try again. But it was all too late.

In this instance, time was not on his side.

-Flashback-

"You just never have any time for me these days, Eric. That's all I'm saying." You shrugged, taking a seat on the sofa in your apartment.

"Well, I'm sorry that I have to work to keep money in my pocket to live. Plus, the fans need me. I can't just ditch like that."

"So, you prioritize your job over me?"

"My career has always been a priority. I love you, but I can't spend all my time with you. Baby, I'm a rockstar. That's just not how it is."

"I see."

"That's why it's rare for a rockstar to have long-term relationships. Not that it doesn't happen, it's just a lot to maintain between fan service, touring, recording and concerts."

"What are you trying to say exactly?"

"Nothing. I'm just saying that maybe you should lower your expectations for our relationship. That's all."

"I've barely seen you during the last two months. And on the day you decide you have enough time for me, this is what you tell me?"

"I think you're taking it the wrong way. That's not-"

"Maybe I wasn't meant to be in a relationship with a rockstar, like you said." You got up, quickly heading towards the door, where he stood.

"Get out." Your eyes burned as they filled with heartbroken tears.

"Y/N, I think you're misunderstanding-"

"I don't think so. Obviously, you don't have any time for me. You don't think of me or my feelings. I'm not a priority to you, Eric. I'm not one of the 5 most important things in your head. You don't care about me or this relationship. A relationship is between two people, and it felt like I was holding ours tightly, by a thread. I'm done. I deserve so much better than this."

He watched as the hot tears spilled down your cheeks. "Y/N, let's just talk about this reasonably, okay?" He reached out his hand to wipe the tears that we rapidly falling, but you pushed his hand away.

"I'm done with you, Eric. I'm tired of being ignored and not cared for when I'm supposed to be in a relationship with someone. At this point, I'd rather be single than have a boyfriend who just doesn't care."

"I do care, Y/N!"

"Saying it is one thing. But showing it is another. And I haven't been feeling your 'love' and 'care' for me at all. I've been alone. I might as well drop you and actually be alone."

Your words hit him like a truck. You were right. He wasn't doing his best at loving and caring for you, and instead of blaming himself, he blamed it all on his job. But before he could verbalize that, you had already opened the door, patiently waiting for him to leave.

"I want you gone. Now." You emphasized once more.

"Wait."

"No. This is not the first time we've discussed this, but I will make sure this is the last time. I've given you chance and chance again to correct yourself, but you never changed. You missed our anniversary dinner for the last two years. I'm tired, Eric."

By this time, the tears started to prickle in his eyes as he felt the tears.

"Don't do this to me, Y/N. Please."

"No, I'm done. NOW GET OUT!" You yelled, as you felt your anger rise and patience run thin.

Being slightly afraid of your angry side, a side he wasn't too familiar with, he flinched before taking the first steps outside. And once he did, he was greeted by the sound of the door slamming shut behind him, and was quickly locked.

Overtime, you decided to forgive him, since your relationship started off as you two being best friends. And you weren't ready to let a good person like him go just because your relationship didn't work out. Obviously, the relationship between you two were never the same, but it got to the point where you could talk to him and not want to hurl or cry.

-END OF FLASHBACK-

And now here Eric stood, getting dressed for your wedding. You finally found someone who would treat you right. Better than he ever did.

He thought about not going, but knowing how close the two of you were, not showing up would be cruel. Especially since you invited him personally. But seeing you so happy without him hurt him more than he'd like to admit.

But he thought he could handle it. You are a beautiful person, and you deserve the world and more. And Eric felt horrible because he couldn't give that to you. So, to make it up to you, the least he could do was be there for you on one of the happiest day of your life.

But when he got to the wedding venue and saw how beautiful you looked, walking down the aisle and joining your very-soon-to-be husband, Eric could feel his heart ready to burst.

He wanted to say he objected against the marriage because he wanted you back. He fucked up, and wanted you back in his embrace. He wanted to be the one to take care of you for sicker and for poorer. To love and to hold. To be there for you in your good times and bad times. But he was too late. And he messed up too badly. And it ruined his chances.

It ruined him.

To see the love of his life and old friend get married to someone else that wasn't him.
