His team's headquarters, a solitary, formerly abandoned two-story house, was located only two blocks away. Thomas and his mother renovated it to be habitable and somewhat decent.
Using magic, they made it invisible to everyone not included in their team, which was composed of Thomas's friends.
The ground floor served as a lounge with a pool table while the second floor served as the boss's and the team's quarters.
By boss, they meant Agnes Green, Thomas and Jessie's mother. She had a secret source that told her who or what was attacking which place in the city.
Today, she was cooped up in her room, mourning the loss of her husband and daughter. Thomas wishes he could do the same.
"Thomas!" A voice called.
It was Oliver. His ash blond hair was stuck up in different angles, as usual. He gave Thomas a small smile.
"Jake and Andre are upstairs. Would you like a drink?"
"I'll pass." Thomas replied, heading upstairs.
"Thomas, wait! I want to ask-"
"What is it, Oliver?" He snapped.
"My uncle and cousin are coming over today. Can I go early today?" Oliver said softly, taken aback by Thomas's outburst.
"Yes. No. I don't know. Go ask mom. I mean, the boss." Thomas answered, rubbing his temples in annoyance.
"Okay... I'm sorry to hear about Jessie." Oliver said.
"I swear, if I see another Auraus again, I'll kill it no matter what." Thomas grumbled to himself.
Oliver gives him a wry smile and heads off. Thomas continued upwards.
He was about to go to Jake's room when he hears a door open.
"Thomas, I have a mission for you." Agnes said, handing him a folder.
