Sokay was running alongside his father, away from the oncoming wall of flames. He turned to see his father suddenly stumble, and then he was consumed by the flames. He could hear his father crying out. He could smell burning flesh.
Sokay awoke with a start, sweating all over.
He ran down to the Jesuit church to pray for his father in heaven. The priest greeted him warmly with a roast turkey leg and some ale.
They sat down together and said grace, then Sokay went down to the alter and prayed
Amen
Dear and loving father I miss you, I will plot the war master and get revenge.
I know you are in heaven not hell I will pray every Friday please accept my prayers
Amen
"Thank you Father for your hospitality"
"No worries."
Sokay told all beings in the castle to go to the feast hall. A while later everyone who lives in the castle was seated and awaiting King Sokay's voice.
"Today is the day we attack the war master!" A great cheer went up at this.
"The other two kingdoms are travelling here as we speak, they will be here in the hour, you must prepare. Gather your weapons and armor and get your fighting spirit kickstarted."
As Sokay expected, within the hour the other two kingdoms arrived all armed to the teeth with swords, knives, bows and knives lashed to the end of wooden poles. They looked battle hardy, but could they beat the mighty war master?
At three o'clock all warriors were saying there farewells to their family members. Soon, all the soldiers were mounted and ready to go.
"LET THE JOURNEY COMMENCE!" shouted King Sokay and they set off with the three kings at the front and and the knights behind.
The sound of the clip-clop of the horses' hooves grew loud because of all the mounted soldiers. There was at least 1120 soldiers that were mounted and at least 500 foot soldiers.
At around eleven o'clock at night five knights were unpacking the big tents, some soldiers had to sleep under the stars in only a sleeping bag.
Sokay and the other kings slept in the biggest tent for the night while the higher status soldiers slept in the other smaller tents and the lower rank soldiers slept under the stars.
The next morning everyone was up early and already the tents were packed away.
At around six-thirty the soldiers set off again for their destination which was another day away. Suddenly there was a rustling in the bush. An archer nocked his bow but all that came out of the bush was a deer, so the archer lowered his bow.
One king chuckled softly, obviously laughing at the fear on the soldiers' faces before they knew it was a deer. At night they had to set up camp again, same people in the same tents.
Sokay awoke to King Julian tugging his sleeve. "Get up," he said in his usual gruff voice. "You slept way past six o'clock, everyone's ready except you".
"Ok," King Julian was thirty-five years old and was king of the east province.
Soon they had set off again and were only 3 kilometres away from their rocky destination. After days of travelling they were in eye distance "Welcome to the war masters lair" said King Julian grimly.
