The next day we were all gathering at Sports festival buildings with our classes. everyone around me was wearing the same clothes no make everyone seem the same I guessed.
walking in there was annoying since my class had all the attention on them when we entered. I just waited annoyed while the other classes entered and walked over by Shinso when they finally were standing in the big arena too. "Hey shinso. if we go up against each other do you want me to do my best or just lose?" I whispered to him since to me it didn't matter who won and who lost.
He looked at me like I just said the most disturbing thing ever. "you were thinking about just letting me win?.." he looked at me not impressed. I just shrugged. "well yeah I don't give a shit you know..." I just answered like it was obvious and he rolled his eyes at me. "if we end up against each other you better do your best... if you don't what would the point be even if I win?" he said looking at me. "recognition? Fame?" I suggested. he just shook his head with a sigh like he shouldn't expect anything better of me. I shrugged and went back to paying attention.
After a while, all the announcements started and Midnight started explaining everything with president Mic and Eraserhead commentating on everything. apparently, the first challenge was an obstacle course. I rolled my eyes at it. so childish.
They weren't telling us much about it but it was probably meant to be a surprise. I looked at shinso. he was paper-thin and weak as hell physically... how was he gonna get past all this to the point where he could actually show his power? A part of me wanted to help him, even if I didn't go on myself so I started thinking about how I could do that as midnight finished talking and followed the crowd as everyone got ready.
Before it started I got over to Shinso again. "Hey sorry about before... I will try my best so do you wanna team up with me?" I asked him putting a hand on his shoulder. he seemed kinda caught off guard by my touch but looked at me at least. "Team up how?..." he asked looking suspicious. that was fair enough in these circumstances. "Well my powers could help you past this challenge as it might require abilities where you can be fast and flexible with power but if there are any team challenges I want you to be on my team and help me" I explained tho I totally planned to flop the obstacle course after having him get through it.
He thought for a while but then nodded. "I will follow your lead this time," he said making me smile."Happy to hear it! Will do my best" I promised and it wasn't a lie. I would do my best to get him past the finish line. not myself though.
Suddenly I heard Midnight start the race and everyone rushed to the exit including Shinso so I followed. everyone got stuck at the exit so I looked around and noticed the roof. "Shinso take my hand!" I yelled to get this attention in the panic and hurry of everyone. he noticed me and struggled to reach me as I did the same to reach him. as soon as I touched him I used my power of magnetism. it was like a purple spark going from me to him and then we suddenly were attached to the roof as two magnets attracting each other. I only made our feet magnetic to the roof though so we could walk on it.
Shinso landed a little weird hanging downwards with his feet stuck to the roof. I smiled and held his hand tight as I pulled him along and he did the best to help as we walked out of the tunnel on the ceiling. it was like your gravity was turned upside down while in the doorway. I noticed everyone getting frozen in place by Todoroki. "Heh great that we were up here" I chuckled.
Once they were out of the doorway he released them from his quirk himself landing on his feet while shinso landed on his butt. "Warn me the next time you do that.." he said with a sigh as I helped him up. "Sorry. let's go" I smiled as he held his hand and kept going through everything.When the robots showed up Shinso seemed to hesitate but I pulled him along fast. When todoroki froze a big robot I followed closely after him. the robot slowly falling over didn't even surprise me I just made sure Shinso and I had gone through first without getting trapped under it.
Shinso seemed to start getting tired so I stopped for a bit. "Jump on," I said as he bent down so he could get on my back. "you gotta be kidding..." He said hesitating. "Nope! come in you wanna go on or not?" I answered back and he sighed as he climbed on my back, and held his arms around my neck, just in case. concentrating a bit I made sure we were stuck to each other with my power like 2 powerful magnets stuck together.
Letting go of him I started running him just gasping surprised while stuck to my back. Having plenty of stamina I kept on running hearing Mrs loud ass yell out of the microphones. "Seems we have a team-up going on here! Shinso and Luca are following closely behind Todoroki! but what is this?!" he yelled out and I tuned him out which almost make me fall straight off the cliff.
"Fuck" I mumbled as I stepped back looking over the situation. "We might lose some time on this but we don't have to be first. use your quirk to stick to the ropes then you won't fall" Shinso said near my ear. "Thanks for the idea. would probably just have jumped and seen what I could do" I chuckled as I did as he explained to get through it even if it meant a lot of people catching up to us.
Later when we came to the minefield I saw my chance to get out of it while still getting Shinso through tho it would require most of my energy. "I'm letting you off my back now" I warned him before letting go of my power. this time he actually landed on his feet. by how far everyone had gotten I knew there wasn't a lot of time. "Listen I will get you over on the other side. I will make a magnetic field on the wall on the other side of this minefield and use all my power to attract you to it" I explained and he frowned. "What about you?" he asked hesitantly as always. "I love how you worry about me but don't. I don't even wanna be here in the first place" I chuckled and he sighed. "Fine.." He said and did I see him blush? he turned away so I didn't get to notice.
I pointed my hand at the wall at the end of the minefield. a purple flash of light showed I used my quirk as it glowed brighter and brighter the stronger I made the magnetic force. I then use my other hand to Make shinso magnetic as well so they would attract each other. I made his magnetic field just as strong before sighed exhaustedly. "now I just need to throw you" I smirked a little. before he could react I picked him up and used the last of my strength to throw him over some of the minefields. as soon as he and the wall got close enough to each other they attracted each other strongly so Shinso hit the wall hard. "Whoops.." I mumbled at that a bit worried.
I let go of my quirk sinking to my knees exhausted as Shinso fell down on the ground safe on the other side. he got up and looked over at me before running through the gate qualifying for the next round. I smiled at that as I tried to keep myself together my form flimmering a bit. luckily nobody seemed to notice. I hoped. Boy was I wrong.
