⚠️ GRIEF ⚠️

Evan couldn't sleep that night. He was traumatized, to put it simply.
He walked to school, looking at the ground the whole time, his hands shoved in his pockets.
He cried so much, and he couldn't keep any food down. His parents came home to find him like that. They quickly called the police. They assured Evan they would find the person who did that. Evan didn't find comfort.

Everyone had already found out somehow. While walking past Charlotta's locker, he found there were already flowers, notes and teddies. Evan froze in his spot. His eyes widened, and apparently he had more tears to cry. He whimpered loudly. Everyone knew she was at his house, everyone knew she was also found dead at his house. Well, her head.

Evan shivered as some tears spilled down his cheeks.

Jonathan was walking down the hallway, sporting his new hoodie. It was red. Bright red. He felt confident enough to wear a color that others' eyes will automatically avert to.
And, well, it was one of Evan's favorites.

Jonathan listened to the whispering of people, all talking about Charlotta. Some people even said they thought Evan had done it. But nobody would ever tell him that, in fear of being wrong. Jonathan followed the petals that lead to Charlotta's locker. The mourning sounded like angel's singing to him. That is, until Evan's crying broke his angel choir. Jonathan froze, not knowing if he should even approach the boy. He inhaled deeply and strolled up to him. He wiped the smile from his face. He really did it.

"Hey Evan." Jonathan shoved his hands into his pockets and looked down. "I'm sorry about what happened to her. If I had- If I had known that would be her last day, I would've treated her better." He mumbled out slowly. He was lying, of course.
Evan's eyes slowly moved to Jonathan, and he let out a broken sob. He wrapped his arms around the boy, burying his face in his shoulder. He clung to Jonathan as he cried, mumbles of things such as 'I'm sorry' and 'it's my fault' slipping out. He gripped the boy's hoodie tightly.

Jonathan's arms were straight down, being enveloped by Evan's much stronger arms. His eyes went wide. The other never hugged him like this before. Jonathan smiled softly and held Evan's head, grazing his hair with his fingers. A light blush spread across his cheeks.
"She died happy, I'm sure of it. She spent her final moments with such an amazing and lovely boy." Jonathan leaned his head against Evan's.
"It's okay, it's okay." He whispers. He pulled away to cup the boy's face in his hands, wiping away some of his tears with his thumbs. "My sweet Evan."

Evan whined loudly. He squeezed his eyes shut, trying to calm himself down. "Jonathan, I don't know if I can stand being at school today," He mumbled. His fingers still clung to the other's hoodie.
"Can we- could we maybe go to your house?" He spoke quietly. He looked around, seeing students staring at the pair. He quickly looked away, looking at Jonathan with pleading eyes.
"Please," He choked.

"M-My house?" Jonathan gulped. But how could he say no? "Okay, okay. Come on." Jonathan takes Evan's hand, and leads him out the door at a quick pace. A few teachers spot them, but say nothing. They understand. He doesn't let go of Evan's hand, even when he gets to the sidewalk. He walks the same direction they took to get to Evan's house, just turning left instead of right.
His hand felt like it was on fire.
He was close.
So close.
"There's not much to do there besides the same ol' video games.." He mutters. He turns to look at Evan. He likes the way his tears makes his eyes light up. His face slightly flushed, giving him a red hue. He's gorgeous.

"That's fine.." Evan gripped Jonathan's hand tightly. He stares down as they walk, not wanting to look at anything else. "Nice hoodie by the way, it's really bright." Evan mumbled.
A finger slips over Jonathan's hand to play with the cuffs of the hoodie.
