"Anything you want, on the house!" Mido said holding her phone.

"I know your happy for me and all but, is this really necessary?" Shota asked.

"Shota, you just dumped the fucking worst teen in Japan and kicked his ass. You're going to celebrate whether you want to or not. Now tell me your celebratory meal." Mido demanded.

Shota sighed and began to list some things she would want to eat later. Mido smiled and began to type a list on her phone, also picking out a few things for herself. Shota grabbed Mido's hair and began to braid it, making sure it wouldn't come lose again.

"Wait a minute, can't you do your own hair with your quirk?" Shota asked halfway through.

"Yeah, why?" Mido said. Shota pulled Mido's hair back causing the girl to yelp in pain.

"So why am I here doing it for you?" Shota asked.

"Cause if it was me I'd give up after 2 minutes. Also you're so much better at this than me." Mido said. Shota pondered but went back to braiding Mido's hair.

"So, why'd you leave for America? And why didn't you tell anyone?" Shota asked.

"You saw the way people treated me, two years of bullying and neglect can do something to a four year old. One day, my dad had enough and told me to pack my stuff. I was going to America and leaving Japan behind."

"So what was it like? In America, I mean." Shota asked.

"Well, it wasn't much. For 2 me and my dad would focus on improving my quirk. We didn't really have much time for sight seeing. Along with improving my quirk he also home-schooled me. I went from a Migraine after 15 minutes to flying for an hour." Mido said.

"That's great progress! What did your dad think?" Shota asked.

"He was so happy. He was spending time with me and also helping me forget about the times I used to spend not with him. He believed that part of the reason that my quirk had improved so much was because I wasn't being hurt anymore. I was physically and emotionally at my best which meant that my quirk was at it's best. Everything was perfect. " Mido said.

" *sigh* this is where things go wrong isn't it?" Shota asked.

"It took 2 years for my mother to realize I wasn't there. She'd forgotten I was supposed to be in her care and that my father never gave me back. One day my dad got a letter saying that he was being charged with kidnapping me. He'd broken his custody agreement." Mido said.

"What do you mean?" Shota asked.

"When my parents got divorced, it was decided that I'd spend weekdays with my mom and weekends with my dad. When he took me to America for 3 years he violated an agreement between him, my mom and the court. Since he did that I wasn't allowed to be in his care anymore." Mido said.

"So he took a plane to Japan to take the trial." Mido said.

"And then what happened?" Shota asked.

"He never came back." Mido mumbled. Shota stopped braiding Mido's hair and hugged her friend immediately. Mido smiled and leaned back into the hug.

"You know, it took awhile, to realize the realities of the adult world. When my parents first divorced I thought Mr. Yagi had stolen my mom from me. Her and Dad were so happy when when I was a baby, only for a stranger to come in and tear that apart, at least that's how i saw it. I grew to despise my mom for letting that happen."

"When I was with my father he got the truth into me. Feelings change and so do people. Love doesn't always last forever but sometimes we want it to. In America I learned to forgive Mr. Yagi and my mom. I'd moved on from my hatred and was ready to move on in my life." Mido said.
