As the sun offered its first lights, all the windows opened at the same time, coordinated by thousands of days like this one. Sleepy but motivated heads appeared to the workers already wandering the streets, on their way to earn their pay. If one characteristic was to be given to Heliodoros, it was its people's tendency to like early mornings and late evenings. Some said its inhabitants developed the ability to sleep only 5 hours a night to enjoy more of everything the city had to offer.

It was also the case for little Allister and his family, who were just done tidying their beds and running downstairs where their mother had already prepared eggs and vegetables, their typical breakfast. Celira, Allister's sister, finished washing her hands before sitting down with the others, smiling as her little brother already jumped to his fork to swallow the whole meal. The Nenko family had never been able to teach him restraint, nor would they ever achieve that, as that meal was standing between him and a great day to come.

- Slow down, little monster, eating faster will not make you stronger yet.

- I know, but the Champion always says that one has to do everything with conviction if he wants to accomplish his goals !

She rolled her eyes, amused by his passion without limits for his hero. There wasn't a day that would pass by without a mimic, a key-punchline, or a try to replicate a special technique displayed the day before.

- We will be going tonight, right mommy ? You promised me !, he said, with a tone that described both his excitement and the need for confirmation that this day would be as awesome as he was expecting.

His mother came to him to fill his glass with water, a gentle smile on her lips.

- Of course we will. But before, you have to do your best at today's training, all right ?

- Ha, as if I wouldn't give my becht !, he answered, as he kept on filling his already full mouth.

As he finished his plate way before everyone else, Allister hurried to the closet near the table, grabbed his coat and rushed outside with a wave of the hand.

- I'm leaving ! See you tonight !

But before he closed the door, her sister caught him, and pushed a wooden object straight to his chest.

- Don't you forget your training sword, you know you will be punished if the Captain catches you again forgetting it !

Regaining balance, he grabbed the sword and looked at her with a splendid « I'm not a kid, I'm already 12 » look, then put on the strap to which its wood weapon was attached before finally running out of the house.

- Bye mom', bye sis' !

Both girls waved as he disappeared in the crowd moving towards the end of the streets. They looked at each other with contentment, and went back inside to finish cleaning the table, as it was time for them to get to the Castle.

Allister started running through the streets with joy. He loved to try and be faster than everyone, easing his way in the crowd. Maybe he thought he was smarter, being able to see that faster path where everyone simply followed the movement. But it wasn't that easy, and he came close to falling after hitting something, but managed to keep his pace. He turned around just to see a bothered man yelling some bird names at him. But that fellow would only get an amused look and a small « Sorry ! » for his troubles, as the youngster had no time to lose. After about thirty minutes of « crowd-running » in the Main Street, Allister took the smaller road on his left towards the clinging sounds and the military shouts.
