IT WAS LATE at night, in the beginning of sumer and Abigail Potter sat in the back garden of the Potter's house playing with Padfoot, Sirius in his animagis form, when her father, James, sat down with them.

"So, are you excited to get your Hogwarts letter?" James asked as Padfoot layers down on Abigail.

"Yeah. Uncle Sirius was telling me about the houses and said that Slytherin was the worst. What would happen if I was sorted into Slytherin?" She asked as she petted Padfoot.

"If you are sorted into Slytherin, me and your mum won't care. Your uncle Sirius' family were all Slytherin's but he was the only one who wasn't. Also don't listen to anything he says, he can be a fucking dick." Padfoot looked at James offended.

"JAMES FLEAMONT POTTER! DID YOU JUST SWEAR IN FRONT OF OUR DAUGHTER." Lily shouted from behind them, next to her stood Remus who immediately started to pet Padfoot.

James' eyes winded in fear while Abigail started to laugh at her father.

"Ooh, daddy's in trouble." Abigail taunted her dad.

"Lily-flower, I think you must be mistaken." James said.

"Sweetheart." Lily looked towards her daughter, "Did your dad say bad words in front of you?"

"Yes, daddy did." Abigail smirked at her dad.

"Traitor." James stuck his tongue out at Abigail who did it back.

"Don't call my goddaughter a traitor."Sirius said, he had changed back into his normal self, he covered Abigail's ears, "Also you called me a fucking dick, so I'm not on your side."

"We will deal with this later." Lily said as she looked at James, "Come on, sweetheart, it's time for bed."

This gained loud protests from Abigail and Sirius. "Come on Lily, let her stay up for a little bit longer while you train Prongs to not swear in front of children." Sirius smirked at Abigail causing her to innocently smile at her parents.

Remus rubbed the bridge of his nose, "Don't worry, I'll make sure she gets to bed."

It was the next day, Abigail laid in her bed asleep when Lily walked in to wake her up. She walked over to the bed and rubbed her shoulder.

"Sweetheart, it's time to wake up." She said, Abigail's eyes fluttered open, once she was used to the light she sat up and laid her head on her mum's shoulder. Lily looked down at her daughter, "Are you still tired?"

Abigail nodded her head before grabbing her dog plushie, that she obviously got from Sirius, and walked down the stairs with Lily following her.

"Look who's awake!" James said as he hugged his daughter.

"I told you all that she should have gone to bed when I told her too." Lily said as she grabbed a plate of breakfast for her daughter.

"Relax, Lily, we went to bed way later than she did at Hogwarts." Sirius said as he motioned to himself and James while Abigail began to eat.

"No wonder the both of you looked like death at breakfast and fell asleep during classes." Remus said as he looked at his husband and best friend.

Before anyone could say anything else a loud noise made the adults look towards the window where an owl with a letter stood. James made his way over to the window and grabbed the letter while giving the owl some food. He made a very loud squealing sound which definitely woke up Abigail for good.

"Why did dad just sound like a five year old girl?" Abigail sarcastically asked as Remus sent her a smile.

James looked at the ten year old before holding up the letter, "I guess you don't want your Hogwarts letter then."

Abigail ran up to her dad and tried to take the letter from him but he was a lot taller than her. Remus walked over to the two and took the letter, he gave it to Abigail and she opened it before giving it to her mum.

Lily read over it, even though she knew what it would say, "Well, how about you get ready and we'll go shopping for everything."

Abigail ran up the stairs and about thirty minutes later came back down, "I'm ready!"

"Why do you take so long to get ready?"

"It takes time to look this good." The father-daughter duo said together as they made their way to the fireplace and left to go to Diagon Alley.
