"Chaeyoung!" greeted Jugyeong. The girl looked up from where she sat and saw Jugyeong running over to her. "Did you get the text from Gowoon?" she asked.
Chaeyoung nodded.
And so there they were. In a cafe with Gowoon who was treating the two girls as a thank you for helping her out.
"I feel a bit better now that I've had something high in calories," said Jugyeong, taking a sip of her strawberry milkshake.
"Were you feeling down before Jugyeong?" asked Chaeyoung, tilting her head as she took a sip of her chocolate milkshake.
Jugyeong shook her head, brushing the question off. "Thank you, Gowoon," she said.
"I wanted to treat you guys to something more delicious," the younger girl explained.
"No, this is totally fine! We didn't do much," said Chaeyoung, reassuring the girl. Gowoon slammed her fist onto the table, shocking the older girls.
"Because your mouth is so filthy, I figured we needed to wash it!" exclaimed Gowoon, repeating Jugyeong's words.
"Remember when you said that? I was so thankful on that day and at the festival too unnies."
"It's good to see you look so bright," Chaeyoung commented.
"I guess you're rubbing off on me," replied Gowoon, smiling at them.
"Have those girls kept bothering you since then?" asked Jugyeong, leaning forward.
"They talk crap behind my back of course. They say I caked my face with makeup so I could perform on stage. And they wonder how I can bear to walk around bare-faced after that," she explained.
"Are you okay after hearing those things?" asked Jugyeong, seeming like she could relate.
"If I resent my own face because of their words, that means I acknowledge that I'm ugly," she answered.
"Woah, so wise," said Chaeyoung. "I've taught you well." Gowoon and Jugyeong laughed at their friend who insisted that she was the best teacher ever.
☾
After their small snack, Gowoon had asked if Jugyeong could teach her how to do makeup. Even though Chaeyoung wasn't the most knowledgeable about makeup, she tagged along anyway.
It had been some time since they got to Gowoon's house when Seojun walked out, in only a blue robe and leopard print boxers.
Chaeyoung put a hand up to her mouth, trying to prevent herself from laughing as he danced, quietly singing to himself, and then pouring water on himself. She stared in shock when he turned around and saw them. Well, more like she was staring at his abs.
"What the hell? You were home?" asked Gowoon, embarrassed at her brother. Chaeyoung's face began to flush as she realized what had just happened.
"Put some clothes on at home, please!" pleased Gowoon, wanting her older brother to just go away.
"Oh, you're here?" he said. He then proceeded to dance to his room until reality hit him and he ran to his room, closing the door and screaming into his bed.
Chaeyoung herself snapped back into reality when Jugyeong said, "H-hey, I didn't see anything!" That sentence only made the boy scream again into his blankets.
Gowoon and Jugyeong turned to Chaeyoung who sat on the floor, mouth shut and still flustered from what she just witnessed.
The two girls gave each other a look before starting to quietly tease the girl who sat in shock.
An hour or two passed and Jugyeong and Chaeyoung were on their way out of Gowoon and Seojun's home.
"Bye Chae!" said Jugyeong, waving as they went their separate ways.
Chaeyoung waved back and turned around walking the other way.
"Moon Chae!" shouted Seojun, running to her.
"Hm?" Chaeyoung turned around, seeing a fully clothed Seojun standing in front of her. They stayed silent, neither of them saying anything. "So..why'd you call me?"
"Oh..um just," he answered, trailing off.
"Just?" she asked, tilting her head. Cute, he thought.
"Let's go, I'll walk you home," he said.
"It's okay, I can just take the bus home," she replied, rejecting his offer, even though she so gladly wanted to take it.
"Who said I'll go all the way to your house? Just to the bus stop," he said, wanting to talk to her more.
"Oh, I'm not going home right now. I'm meeting up with Suho at the comic store," she answered.
"Suho?" he asked, starting to frown. Chaeyoung nodded at him.
"I should go now though, I don't want him to wait too long."
"Wait, I wanted to say thanks for caring for Gowoon. I couldn't just leave," he explained, walking up to stay with her.
"Did you just say thank you?" she asked, shocked.
"Did I?" he said, looking away from her, a small blush rising on his cheeks.
"Who knew you could say thanks," she teased him. "Say it again." She stood in front of him, smiling, as usual, ready to hear it.
"Why would I repeat myself? You already heard it once," he replied.
"I didn't hear it properly," she insisted, almost pouting.
"I'm sorry," he said. Chaeyoung frowned, now sure why he said sorry.
"You're sorry?" she asked, confused.
"I'm not going to say it twice."
"I should be saying sorry."
"Huh? Why?"
"I saw....everything." She looked at him, starting to slowly back away.
"Everything?' he questioned, confused about what she meant.
"Your underwear," she said before saying "Roar!" She quickly tried to escape but was pulled back.
"Hey! You shouldn't be running," he said as he grabbed her wrist. Chaeyoung blushed at the contact and her eyes trailed to his hand.
Following her gaze, he let go of her wrist and he himself started to have rosy cheeks.
Chaeyoung quickly turned around, holding the wrist he touched, and walked away, not even saying goodbye. Her other hand went up to her chest, feeling her fast-beating heart.
Han Seojun, just what are you doing to me?
