The rest of the night was filled with my parents talking about their day and my party that's coming up. They are planning this giant event at city hall and invited the whole city. If I was a normal teenage girl, this would be exciting but I'm not. I'm not one to be the center of attention.

Making it back to my room, I close my door and lay on my bed. The last thing I will let my parents enjoy is my birthday. When they realize there is no mate for me, hopefully they will stop pestering me about it. The only mate that fits me would be Damian. Feeling a smile grow on my face, I don't know how I would react once we know. Thinking about him in that way sends butterflies inside and it makes me happy.

Sitting in a daze, my phone dinged letting me know I have a new message. 'Hey, you heading out tonight?' Seeing Damian's name pop up made me smile. Rolling over on my stomach, I message him back. 'No, parents have me on lock down until my birthday.' Instantly, he responded. 'That sucks. Alex made it to town tonight and will be coming to school tomorrow. Can he join our club?' Our club. I'm not sure about new people but I know it will make him happy. 'If you want. I'm nervous about next week.' I admit to him. Confiding in him is easy because Damian understands me. 'Don't worry, we will be the perfect match.' Feeling my cheeks turn red, I don't reply back. I sure hope so and if not, who could be better than him?

...

Next morning, I decided to put effort in my looks and put some makeup on. I normally just do the basic eyeliner and mascara to make my green eyes pop. The clothes I chose were pretty basic. Tight black jeans with my convers and a grey tank top. Knowing my mom will have a fit, I grabbed my black jean jacket to cover my tattoos until I get to school. Please let today go smooth.

Walking into class, I see Damian sitting in our normal spot in back with two coffees. I don't understand why but this gesture makes me smile. Watching him look up from his phone, he begins to whistle. "Look at you today. Did you wear makeup just for me?" Hitting him in the arm before I grabbed my coffee and sat down. "Shut up. I woke up and felt pretty." Puckering my lips and flashing my eyelashes at him. "Please stop or your face will get suck like that." As we enjoyed our laugh, I looked around and noticed the class was still empty. "Your friend come to school today?" Watching him nod as he took a sip, I wished I was that cup.

Shaking my head, I leaned back in my seat and placed my legs on the top of the desk. "Yea, Alex is getting his schedule now and will meet us at lunch if he has the same one." Nodding my head, I lost interest once he mentioned sharing lunch with him. I understand this guy is Damian's best friend growing up but me feeling like the possible third wheel kind of sucks.

Watching the student body flow in and take their seat, I lean my head back and close my eyes. "Am I taking notes for you today?" Damian whispered as the teacher wrote on the board. Smiling, I turn and open my eyes to see he was an inch away from my face. Gazing in his beautiful caramel eyes as both of our body heats started picking up and he looked from my eyes then to my lips.

Hearing the teacher clear his throat, I raised my eyebrow and watched Damian sit back in his chair. "There will be no form of PDA in my classroom." Laughter spread through the room, and I couldn't help but join in. Looking at Damian and he looked puzzled. Was he really planning on kissing me?

Things settled down and the lecture continued until the door started to open. Before I saw him, this amazing smell filled my nose and it smelled like woods. Sitting up in an instant, I watched this gorgeous man with shaggy hair around his beautiful hazel eyes. He was built and his shirt looked like it would burst at the seams if he flexed. Watching him walk towards the teacher and handing him a paper, the teacher pointed to the opposite side of the room, but he walked towards my side.

"That's Alex." Damian said in excitement. As I watched his every move, he stopped in front of my desk and looked at me. "Can I help you?" I said with an attitude. Watching his features look amused, he pointed to my chair. "I'm sitting there." Letting out a chuckle, I rolled my eyes. "No hunny, this is my chair." Pointing to my name that's carved on the top of the desk. Watching his eyes look at my name and looking back at me. "That means something?" He snarled. Who the hell does he think he is?

"Hey Alex, this is Moxie." Damian said standing. I can sense some irritation in his voice since Alex didn't even turn to look at him when he spoke. Rolling my eyes, I stood and gathered my things. "I'm not in the mood to deal with assholes today. See you later Damian." As I started to walk, he blocked the isle. Looking up, I can feel my blood boil as I see the humor on his face. Having enough, I shoved him with all my might. Watching him slide across the desk in front of mine, then landing on the floor put a smirk on my face. "Serves you right to be a dick" I spoke. Walking towards the door, the teacher handed me a red slip, "Yea I know, office." Grabbing it while storming out the class not looking back.

If that asshole happens to be my mate, he has no idea who he just pissed off. Feeling my phone vibrate, I pull it out and see that Damian messaged me. 'Sorry about that. I don't know what got into him. See you at lunch? Just us?' Shaking my head, I headed out the front door. 'No, I'm leaving to let some steam off. Maybe tomorrow?' Putting my phone in my pocket, I set off running. There is one place I go if I need silence: the tracks.
