Nice hair. Nice face. Nice body.

I check out the girl, in front of the flower shop across the road, bending over and examining roses. I run a hand through my hair, quickly check my breath and start walking towards the girl. I am about to cross the street when I bump into someone.

"Sorry.." I mutter absentmindedly to the back of the person, eager to reach the hot girl.

"I'm sorry too. I wasn't looking."

I glance at the person who had now turned around. I stop in my tracks as I see it was that boy from before.

"Oh hey Julian? Isn't it?"

"Hey! You must be Ian," he grins.

"Close" I give a forced smile. "It's Dylan." He gives me an apologetic smile. I look across the road, and the hot girl had vanished.

Damn it..

"What are you doing here Julian?" I ask casually, feeling a little irritated on missing a hot date.

He laughs, "Oh I was just exploring on my own. Then I saw that-" I look to where he was pointing. It was a billboard of Calvin Klein, with a very much nude male model. "-and I just stopped."

"You are gay?" Julian nods.

"Really? You don't look gay?" I mumble.

"Excuse me?" he asks looking offended.

"Oh no!" I panic. "I meant, you look like a regular teenager.." I desperately explain.

"Because gay teenagers look abnormal?" he raises his eyebrows.

"Oh my God! No! Shit, I should just stop talking.." I drag a hand over my face. To my surprise, Julian chuckles.

"Relax dude," he assures me, patting my shoulder. "You obviously haven't met many gay people." I pull on my collar, feeling really hot. He suddenly, pulls me into him.

"Dumbass.." he mutters, looking after the man who ran past us. "You okay?"

I nod wordlessly, not trusting myself to speak. I was still feeling heady from the cotton candy smell. I look down the footpath, to check if any more runners are coming along, so I could again step into him and take a whiff of that cotton candy scent.

"Dylan?"

"Yeah, I'll get going.."

"I was hoping, you would offer to accompany me," Julian grins.

"Nope, I don't like you that much," I shake my head.

"Okay?" he frowns, his smile dropping a little.

I push past him and storm off towards my home.

"Hey Dylan," my dad greets me when I barge into my house. I mutter some response and rush to my room. I lie on my bed thinking why the fuck did I do that. I am a nice person. I am a friendly person. Then why the hell did I treat him like that?

...............................

"Max! Ava flirted with me!" I jump around Max.

"Woah, for real?" Max closes his locker.

"Yes! And best part, I didn't like it. So Ian saying that I have a crush on her, is not true? Right?"

"Hey Max," we are interrupted by Julian. "And er.. Hi to you too Dylan" he mumbles to me. I roll my eyes. I could feel my mood changing.

"What do you want?" I ask bored.

"Actually I wanted to talk to Max. Have you seen Lia?" he asks turning to Max. Max shrugs.
