I hate the beach
But I stand in California with my toes in the sand

Zayn has always hated the beach, he hated the salty fumes that played in the air. He hated the crashing waves, he hated the swarms of people that would flock in masses to sunbathe until their skin gleamed red. He hated how the sand would burn his feet, and press against the crevices of his body unannounced. He hated how he would have to sit far away from the shore because he hated the company he came with.

He hated the bothersome squeaks from white birds that flew over uninvited. He hated how people freely showed off their perfect bodies, and sculpted abdomens while he tugged his sweater over his hands.

He sat secluded from his rather obnoxious friends, on a bench near the boardwalk. Glaring at any passerby.

The sky shone a bright blue that would bleed crimson red and bright orange once the sun set. Zayn actually did find sunsets quite beautiful and was open to the bounty nature had to offer.

And when the day ceased to an end, and he was coerced to play volleyball on the beach. For once he enjoyed the soft golden grains of sand against his feet and the ocean didn't look exactly uninviting.

The day flew and Zayn found in his friends obnoxious affairs their was a fun that came with. The sun became to set and zayn stood watching the beautiful spectacle, the golden orb slowly sinking into the sea, Zayn almost expected their to be a sizzle.

"S' gorgeous," A curly haired boy next to him commented, he had a slow deep voice laced with a British accent.

"It really is," zayn responded eyes a gleam. Facing the stranger, it was starting to cool and he tugged the sleeve of his sweater down lower.

"So are you," the chestnut hair boy smiled. Zayn was taken aback, sure he was used to the occasional bird flirting, but why was this gorgeous lifeguard flirting with him? Two could play at this game.

"You're not much less either," zayn debacles a smug look etched on his face.
