The lawyer sat all day on his desk, consuming coffee cup after cup, that his mom brought him, reading everything about Jungkook. He had the feeling he knew more about the prisoner than about himself.
He grew up in a foster family, in a foster home in Busan. After his 6th birthday, he was adopted by a rich family, that were unable to have children. Actually, Jungkook was 8 but many foster homes use to lie about age of children, presenting them younger to make the families take them.
So for the family, Jungkook was 6.
Their house was big, the family was often outside so they didn't really spend much time with Jungkook. He was on his own, working out, skipping school, getting out at night, visiting bars. He was also reported for vandalism numerus times with graffiti on buildings owned by rich companies.Nobody really cared about him, his foster father payed once when Jungkook was catched, but this topic was never ever brought up again. After his 19th birthday, Jungkook found a job and moved out. There is no information, that he has still contact with his foster family.
He worked in a garage for repairing cars, his boss payed him good, but he never tried to educate himself more after breaking the high school, that his foster family forced him to go.There were more details about everything, but nothing that seemed as if Jungkook would be a serial killer, that's what Taehyung thought. Jungkook was according to documents, 23 right now. There were not so many years after he moved out and started his own life.
But what happened those four years? Something so terrible and horrible, that made Jungkook to a serial killer?
Taehyung would hold his head stable, since he needed time to proceed so much information. But it was very interesting to him, since he was a teenage boy he wanted to become a lawyer so badly, all of this only amazed him and very popular Korean crime series about a lawyer, inspired him too.
The male started sorting all documents so he would have a better overview. He decided to go the next day and ask Jungkook few more questions, he wanted to see if the other was able to lie to him, that's why Taehyung wanted to ask him some questions, that he knew the answer, before asking other questions. The next day, Jungkook was brought to the hall where Taehyung was waiting for him. As he entered the room, Taehyung stood up immediately and gave Jungkook his hand.
"Good morning Mr. Jeon, thank you for coming.", he nodded at the other, as the other shook his hand. Both sat down and the police officer took off Jungkook's handcuffs.
"How are you today?", Taehyung started off easily, hoping he wouldn't annoy Jungkook.
The prisoner shrugged and leaned back in his chair, looking at Taehyung.
Taehyung considered this as a "I don't know", that's why he continued.
"Alright so, I'd like to ask you some questions."
Taehyung asked Jungkook three easy questions about his childhood so he would see if the other lied or not. But Jungkook was not dumb, he knew, that the lawyer had already his dossier and would probably know everything, so he knew Taehyung tried to test him.
But that was not a bad move at all.
Jungkook was honest though, he could lie at the next questions.
Of course, Taehyung knew that he may lie for some questions. So both played a game, that was pretty controversial.
"What happened after you found a job and started living on your own?"
"I worked, payed my bills, had good money and had a pretty nice life."Taehyung scanned Jungkook's face, but the prisoner's face was as straight as the highway from Seoul to Busan (I'm sorry this one was bad lmao).
"And what happened those four years, that made you to a criminal?", the lawyer decided to use an attacking move, putting his paper down on the table. He had asked it more quiet though, since the police officer was guarding behind Jungkook.
Jungkook was looking at Taehyung, but he didn't think he would answer this question. It kind of made a bad impression to him. What if Taehyung was payed only to bring him back in jail?
Finally, the prisoner turned around to the police officer.
"I am done here.", he told him and stood up, letting the man lead him out.
Taehyung was left behind, kind of speechless. Maybe this wasn't such a good move, he thought to himself as he dropped his pen on the table after the two others left the room.
