"I didn't expect you to come.", Jungkook mumbled as the lawyer sat next to him. Taehyung stared at him for a while, before looking away. "And let an innocent person go to jail? Do you think I'd get over it? My job is to protect people. That's why I became a lawyer. My father, he was sued 12 years ago for something he didn't do. Nobody cared about trying to solve the case. We hired a lawyer, that took all of our money, then disappeared. I was fed up with the unfairness that is in our system... the way was hard and long but, I hope it was worth it.", he explained, while Jungkook listened.
Someone walked over to them, it was Rodgers. He was wearing a suit this time. "So you made it, Taehyung? What about your car?"The male shook his head. "I took my mom's bike."
Jungkook frowned. "Why? What happened to your car?". Taehyung waved with his hand. "Someone from your friend Hudson has probably found out about me and stuck a wood piece in my tire. Luckily I didn't drive so fast." and then Jungkook realized, that the other actually cared. He decided once again to trust, in this case Taehyung. He turned his head to him, nodding. "Do what you need to do.", he told him, making Taehyung warm up and yet at the same time be a little nervous. What if he did something wrong?No, he couldn't. He just won Jungkook's trust. Rodgers patted Taehyung's shoulder and nodded at him as he walked back to his seat when the judge and most of the people came back in.
The case continued.
The judge and his helpers had to decide together what to do, they had to make a decision. Everyone could feel the tense atmosphere in the hall.
But soon, the judge stood up, holding a sheet in his hands as he read out aloud. "Me, Mr. Judge Gray, together with Mr. Judge Honsuk and Mr. Judge Leemin have looked through the evidences, presented by Mr. Kim about the case Jeon Jungkook. We do agree, that Mr. David Hudson and the main culprit Mr. Rosokovski have committed the listed crimes, using Mr. Jeon Jungkook to cover them up. Since Mr. David Hudson did not submit to get himself an advocate or sue Mr. Jeon Jungkook, we are taking this as a confession for his guilt. The presented indications seem to be valid and strong. After a small conversation with six other jurors, that have followed all cases here in the hall, we recognize Mr. Jeon Jungkook as innocent. The case has been closed.", he spoke the last words out, hitting with the hammer once.
~~~~~
The wind blew, thin clouds were covering the afternoon sky. The street lights were turned on and a train passed by after all passengers from the platform 3 got in. Taehyung got up the stars, entering platform two that was on the other side. There were a lot of people. He was dressed in a coat and had a dark red scarf around his neck. Autumn months were here. He looked around, sighing softly as he walked over to what he was looking for.
Jungkook stood there in his Nike jacket and blue jeans, a suitcase next to him, his hands in his pockets. Once Taehyung stood next to him, he turned over to him, chuckling a little. "You came?"
"Of course I did."
"So you want to confess you have feelings for me?"
"I think you know that I am not some romantical type of person, that wants the story to end with an 'I love you' or whatever shit."
Jungkook had to laugh at this sentence.
"That's why I liked you. You're different."
"I'll take this as a compliment."
"Of course you will.", Jungkook replied, ruffling Taehyung's hair. Both males stared at the train tracks, looking if a train was coming.
"Why do you want to go?", Taehyung dared to ask but he thought he knew the answer already.
"I am not able to start a normal life after what happened. Yes, I am a free man, officially, but am I really free from everything?", Jungkook turned his head to the other. "Am I free from the past? From the traumatic experiences? Only because I am not in a jail cell does not mean I can live freely again. "
Taehyung nodded and he fully understood the other. Those thoughts would have followed him forever.
"What happened to your sister if I may ask?", he suddenly remembered to ask.
Jungkook was staring at the clock on the other platform. "She was in the hall, dressed up. After the judge's last sentence, she left for Japan. She wanted to make sure, that you're going to protect me and that I'm fine."
"So she didn't talk to you?"
"We don't need to talk to each other to know where we are and what we've done. It's just a feeling I guess."
"Aha, okay. I really wonder how she looks like right now."
Jungkook pulled out of his inner pocket a photo from his wallet, handing it over to Taehyung who took it and saw a young woman next to a young Jungkook, that was graduating. Both were smiling and Jungkook's haircut to the yellow suit made it look cute and funny at the same time so that he smiled. "She hasn't really changed.", Jungkook added after taking the picture again, putting it back.
"You somehow look alike even if you're not blood related."
"Maybe you're right."
"What about the number 136912? Is it a random number that they gave you? Sorry if it's a rude question I shouldn't hav-", but the lawyer was interrupted by Jungkook.
"I was arrested by the fat police officer, that simply hated me without a reason. He asked me what's my birth month and he put the 9 on it. And before, 13 and 6, its the date June 13th. The date, where I found out, that my biological mother has passed away due to cancer. He knew this information of course, he wanted to ruin me mentally. She was only 53 and I wanted to look up for her. 12 was my cell number."
"And my birth month.", Taehyung mumbled.
Jungkook tilted his head a little, nodding. "I see."
He pulled out the Milo kitty plushie from his suitcase and gave it to Taehyung. The male hesitated before taking it and approaching it. "You can give it back to me when we meet again if you don't want it. Until then, keep it."
Both turned around as they heard a white city express coming. Jungkook took his suitcase and stood in front of Taehyung. "I'm going to my uncle in Osaka. Then I'll find a job and live in my own flat. When I stabilize my life again, I'll call you.". The lawyer nodded, receiving a gentle kiss on the cheek afterwards from Jungkook. The male turned around and got in the train with his suitcase once the passengers from inside came out. He sat next to a seat next to the window, looking at Taehyung. There was a whistle, that announced the departure. The train started moving, and the lawyer waved at Jungkook one last time with the toy in his other hand, following the train with his eyes until it was gone, far away to the horizon.
The end
You finally made it. Also, a little side note: do not blame me for the language used during the law process, I am not a judge or lawyer, I looked up some things so this story was written with a lot of effort and risk to look like a fool... I still hope you found it interesting just like "At gunpoint", that has now 60K reads, which I'm thankful for to you all. And if you're new here, check it out! Thank you very much for reading till the end, I hope I didn't disappoint you. Stay tuned for another story, that may come after few months (of course, if I find an interesting plot). Have a nice day/night.
