Pleur's POV
I don't know what came over me. I should've just left her there, or sent her back. Should have sticked to my plan.
But why didn't I?
Why?
I don't know. I just...
Wanted to see her.
I guess.
I must admit, I'm a bit dramatic. I could easily repeat the process. But at what cost? The face she made the second she realized what I was doing says enough.
I betrayed them.
Maybe if she sees the village, she'll get scared and faint, or something. Yes, let's stick to that. Now, as I'm walking by their side, I have to resist the urge to hold her hand. I won't forget the first time we ever held hands.
But she did. Because of what I have done.
It was for the better! They would agree, if she could still remember. She scrapes her throat.
"Miss... I think we're here, miss."
I look up. Yes, we're here. The gate is opened.I readjust myself and smile the brightest smile I've ever smiled.
"Yes, we are! Welcome to the Village. Please just call me Pleur, by the way."
"Just the Village? It doesn't have a name?" Asks Juno.I think about that for a full second. They asked the exact same question last time.
"Eh, yes, I suppose it doesn't. Let's get going, alright?"
She nods, and smiles shyly. The Village is as beautiful as ever, with all the mushrooms glowing as the sun is slowly setting.
Juno looks as if they've seen a ghost.
"Juno? Are you okay?"
She looks up. "Yes, I- Wait, how do you know my name?"
Shit.
"You told me."
"No, I didn't."
"Yes, you did! When we met, just now. You must be in shock."
They relax a bit.
"I suppose so, then."
Now I relax too.
I can't make any more mistakes, or she'll become suspicious.
