"You don't think I scared her off, do you?" Jordan asked his best friend, Kaden. Kaden shrugged in response. Jordan sighed. "I thought that we had a fun time last night, I really do."
"Well, maybe she didn't feel the same," Kaden responded. Jordan adjusted his backpack strap on his shoulder as he entered he classroom. He looked around the class to see that Meredith was nowhere in sight. "Dang, it looks like she isn't here either."
Jordan nodded. It seemed that Kaden had noticed it too. Jordan and Meredith hung out last night to work on their science experiment together. Jordan remembered all the laughs that they shared, and knew that Meredith was the one he was slowly falling for.
Although Jordan was young, he knew love when it came to him. The science experiment was over at his house, and Meredith got along with his family very well. They all loved her! In the end, Meredith accidentally got of the chemical onto her skin. Jordan went off to use the restroom, and that was where Meredith fell over and shrunk. She had shrunk onto the table, and expected to be seen by Jordan, but was not.
Jordan came back into the room, believing that she had just left early because her mother needed her home early. He didn't think too much of it, but when he was putting his phone down, he didn't know that that little certain move would have crushed Meredith. Meredith jumped off the table before the phone came down to smash her and she had fallen into Jordan's backpack.
She had been there for the entire night, and was happy to hear when Jordan was awake. He had been talking about her all day, which would make her happy, but the fact that she was tiny and unable to be seen or heard by her crush, it was a little harder to be happy about. Jordan put his backpack on the floor as he sat down in his desk.
He glanced over at the empty desk beside him.
"You know, I hope that she's doing okay," Jordan fretted, lowering his eyes to the ground. "We had such a good time last night, I would just hate it she just ghosted me, you know? She wasn't here this morning, or during lunch! Hopefully she comes last period."
Kaden agreed before departing to his desk. The teacher begun class and it was enough time for Meredith to make it to the top of Jordan's backpack. She peered up at him, gaping at the towering height of Jordan. She knew that she was small, but didn't expect that Jordan would be that gigantic! She was terrified, yet amazed at the same time. Meredith tried calling out for Jordan, but she was still nowhere close for him to hear her.
She sighed to herself and slid off the backpack onto the floor. She took her tiny legs and ran up to Jordan's sneaker. The red converse was nervously tapping the floor, and it felt like earthquakes to Meredith. Jordan continued to tap away, not knowing the horror that it was causing tiny Meredith below him. She just hoped that she wouldn't get stuck underneath his sneaker.
She knew if she got caught underneath the sneaker, she would be a goner. Although it was hard to maintain balance, she found her way around his tapping foot and to the leg of his chair. She used her athletic ability to climb up on the leg of the chair. Even though it was taking some time, she had finally made it to the top of the chair. She brushed herself off and looked up to see Jordan's gigantic figure sitting right in front of her.
"Jordan!" She called out. Jordan didn't move. "JORDAN!!!"
The louder she screamed, Jordan's head had turned to the side. Her eyes widened. He turned to look behind him, but his shifting movement made Meredith have to run to the side to avoid being swept off from that height. Jordan's eyes kept looking around the room.
"Jordan? Are you okay?" The teacher asked. Jordan snapped his eyes back at the teacher. "What is it?"
"Oh, sorry, I just...I thought I heard something," Jordan said, brushing away the thought. "It was nothing though. I think I'm just hearing things."
"You're not just hearing things, you're hearing me!" Meredith cried out. She blew out a long breath as Jordan went back to paying attention. "Come on Jordan!"
She ran up to the giant figure of Jordan and began to hit him, hoping that he'd feel something. Jordan furrowed his eyebrows as he felt something lightly tapping on his behind. His first thought was that it was some sort of bug, and he knew exactly what to do. Jordan slowly lifted himself up off the seat and pulled the chair a little bit closer, positioning Meredith to right below his behind.
Meredith's eyes widened in fear as she watched Jordan's bottom descended down toward her. She yelled for Jordan's attention once more before she was crushed beneath his butt. Jordan smirked in satisfaction as he felt the thing beneath him get smashed. It was squirming a little bit, so Jordan just grinded it deeper into his wooden seat. Jordan sighed in relief as he felt it stop moving.
Jordan didn't know that he just crushed his classmate underneath him, and there was no way for him to know either. He thought that it was just a bug, but didn't realize that it was his crush trying to get his attention.
"Take that you stupid bug," Jordan whispered softly. "That'll teach them a lesson not to mess with me."
Jordan continued to listen to the teacher, unaware of the fact that he just ruined his chance with the girl he liked, but not in the way most people would expect.
