Slippery Skates

"You ready to skate kitty?" 

"I think so,  except I think I'll be falling more then actually skating." Chat Noir opened his big black bag and pulled out some black ice skates with white laces, and shoved them on his feet. "I'm sure you will be fine, I'm pretty clumsy myself so don't count on me too much." Ladybug gave him a quick smile as she tied her skates tightly and grabbed her elbow and knee pads. "People are staring!" Chat whispered to ladybug, the two of them looking up at the many confused faces.

"Don't worry about them. You ready?" She looked over at him putting on his helmet, then she looked down at his shoes, noticing they weren't tied. "Almost, just gotta tie my laces." He bent down to tie his skates but didn't know how to get the laces through the wholes properly. "Here let me help." Ladybug knelled down in front of him and laced his shoes. Chat Noir rubbed the back of his neck as a reflex because of Adrien doing it all the time. 

They sat in silence while Ladybug finished tying his laces. She put them in double knotted bows and patted his knee, using it to get herself up to her feet. "Thanks bugaboo." Chat said, grinning. Ladybug just rolled her eyes with a smile and piled her bag on top of his. Chat looked up at Ladybug who was standing up in front of him with her arm out for him to grab. He held her hand, and carefully pulled him self up onto his skates. "Now just walk over to the rink-" She started to gently pull his arm over towards to ice, making him tumble his way over. "I said walk!" She giggled, catching his fall. "I'm trying but it's hard when I'm on blades!" He uttered very dramatically, waving around his other hand at his feet. 

They finally got over to the ice. Ladybug carefully stepped onto the ice, grabbing Chat Noir's other hand so she has a better grip on him. She chuckled as she slid backwards by accident, Chat now trying to keep her still so he didn't fall while getting on the ice. "You okay?" Chat Noir chuckled, looking at her while pulling her back to the edge. "Yes, are you? You haven't actually got on the ice yet." She uttered back. 

"Well if you stood still I would!" He mentioned. Chat slowly stepped onto the ice, holding Ladybug's hands for his life. Once both skates where on the ice all his weight fell onto Ladybug as he slid forward. "Whoa slow down!" Ladybug cried. "I can't!" Chat cried back, falling in her direction, while Ladybug kept backing up so he wouldn't trip her. At this point they where way out in the ice rink, so they only had each other to hold on to. 

"Can I let go?" Ladybug asked, bending forward trying to keep her balance. "Ya just stay here in case I fall." He declared, looking down so he wouldn't fall. "Okay ready? One, two, three-" Ladybug slowly let his hands fall out of hers as he tried to get his balance. Chat wobbled his way to standing up straight with his arms out to give him balance. "Hey look at you!" They both giggled as Ladybug carefully skated a circle around him. She was just as surprised as him when she didn't fall. "Wow you're not too bad M'lady!" Chat Noir stated, still trying to stay still.

"Okay lets actually skate. Grab my hand and we will go to the wall so you can grab it." Ladybug declared, holding her arm out in front of his. With no hesitation he put his hand in her's and she mostly pulled him over to the wall. 

He put his hand on the wall and they started skating. "One leg in front of the otherrrrrr-" She squirmed as Chat fell to the ground on his back. Still holding her hand, he pulled her down with him. "Oops-" Chat said, laying next to Ladybug on the ground. "It's fine, just get back up." She chuckled, attempting to stand up herself.

"Y-yea I can get up- whoa-" Chat Noir started to get up but his feet kept sliding all over the place. Ladybug bent down and put her arm under his and over his opposite shoulder, lifting him up. "Thanks, Bugaboo." He said rubbing his neck, looking at her with not so subtle blush across his cheeks. Ladybug couldn't help but blush as well, not because she liked him just because of him saying thanks. After a couple seconds staring into each others eyes a kid bolted past them and almost knocked Ladybug over. She balanced herself and realized it had been only silent stares between them for a while. She cleared her throat to get him out of his head. "So! You coming?" She nudged him towards the direction they where going in.

"Uh- yep!" He looked around for a second then started moving his feet. He licked his lips and made a sort of creepy face trying to focus as they made there way around the rink. Ladybug couldn't help but giggle at his expressions. "what?" He giggled back. "No nothing, you're doing really well!" She lied, seeing as though he was looking super funny the way he was moving. 

"So what's new with you." He asked, starting a conversation. "Nothing really, just school, talking to Tikki and being grounded." She smiled. "That sound sooooo exciting." He added sarcastically. "My kwami won't talk to me most of the time because I keep running out of cheese." He chuckled. "Does Plagg just make sure you always have smelly cheese with you?" She asked, a little concerned for Plagg. "Yep! He is one lucky kwami, without me he wouldn't get nearly as much cheese as he does." Chat added with a giggle. 

As they where skating, Chat Noir and Ladybug ended up racing each other to the opposite side of the rink, and laughing which was definitely slowing them down. It was very close near the end, and Chat took his hand off the wall in excitement. Ladybug was in the lead, and she didn't even have to skate at this point to win because Chat had fallen again, a couple meters back from where Ladybug is. "Chat! Are you okay?" She skated quickly over to him in concern. "Ya I'm okay, you definitely win-" He smiled, lifting himself from the ground. "You're lucky I fell I would have kicked your ass." He said sarcastically, hitting his hands together to get off the snow from his skates scratching the ice.

"I'm sure you would have skated right passed me and beat me like it's nothing." She smiled, crossing her arms. "Not like nothing, just by a bit." He said, smiling back. "Anyways, I should get going. I have to pick something up for this weekend." Ladybug uttered. "Okay Bugaboo! I should get going, got to buy Plagg some cheese." Chat said, slowly stepping out of the rink. 

She took off her skates and shoved them in her bag. Helping Chat with his skates, he put his stuff in his bag as well.  "Bye Chat!" She turned around, smiling at him. "Oh Ladybug?" Chat caught her before she left. "Thanks for today. You are a great friend." They exchanged quick smiles. "Right back at 'cha." She slowly turned back around and walked out of the arena.

Ladybug dropped her skates through her balcony into her room, on her way to the store to get her green and black fabric for the Chat Noir tuxedo. She swung her way over and dropped herself behind a big dumpster. "Tikki, spots off." She said in a quiet tone so no one would over hear. Once she was Marinette again, she walked out from behind the dumpster into the store casually. 

She quickly grabbed the fabrics and rushed out of the store knowing her parents haven't seen her all day, which isn't good for her whole, 'I'm grounded' situation.

Marinette got back to her house, hid behind the bakery and quietly transformed into ladybug to get in her window. She jumped onto the balcony and went into her room. "Tikki, spots off." Marinette sat on her chaise in the corner of her room, grabbing her journal, and wrote about her day with Chat.
