Aphrodite Ambologera - Lyra Gray
"She's bleeding Isaac.'" Stepping away from the car I glance over at him, before grabbing his sleeve and pulling him away. Standing in front of him I place my hands on his cheeks, his breathing ragged.
"There's a lot of blood Lyra." He mumbles through a clenched jaw, his nostrils flaring at the overwhelming scent of fresh blood. Watching as his fangs begin to descend I pull his face towards mine, his frenzied bloodshot eyes on me. Pressing my lips against his I close my eyes, focusing on helping Issac control his bloodlust I ignore the wreckage around us.
Pulling away I send him over to my busted up Ferrari and turn back to help the people in the car. Focusing my mind I watch as the mangled passenger door begins to open. The shattered door screeching, there is no way a human could've gotten it open, it's crushed due to its momentary collision with a tree as it spun off the road.
Leaning toward the girl's face I lightly press my fingers against her neck, her heartbeat slow due to the amount of blood she's lost. Quickly acknowledging her injuries I glance over at the other girl who appears to be in worse condition. Grimacing I yank the seatbelt from its buckle and gently drag the girl from the wreckage. Doing the same with the other girl I lie them side by side before sitting down on the soft grass, placing a hand on each girl's forehead as I exhale sharply.
Closing my eyes I let my head fall back, my face looking toward the sky. It's been a while since I've tried this. Squinting I press my finger tips against their skin. Feeling my energy begin to flow through my fingers I push to maintain the flow, my aim being to restore the health of the girls. After a mere couple of minutes I let go and open my eyes. Watching the colour return to their cheeks I smile. My palm presses into the ground as I help myself stand up and make my way back to Isaac who hasn't stopped pacing.
"Isaac they're fine." I soothe as he runs his hand through his hair.
"They're innocent, I don't hurt the innocent."
"It was an accident, Isaac, you're not to blame. Now, what are we doing about the car? Does it still run?"
"Yeah it still runs."
"Well let's get going, they're gonna wake up in a few minutes with no recollection of what happened and I wanna be gone by then."
Popping the handle I slide into the driver's seat of my abused Ferrari. Whispering apologies to the steering wheel I look at Isaac through slitted eyes, shaking my head side to side before laughing and starting the engine. Very inelegantly making it back onto the road we head toward Isaacs. I'm in dire need of a shower and some good old fashioned planning, after all I need to get the manor back on it's feet.
. . .
Stepping out of the shower I grab a couple towels, bending over I wrap my hair and balance it on my head before wrapping the other fluffy cotton around my body. Drying my feet on the bath mat I wander into Isaac room's in search of his boxer shorts and an oversized tee. Padding into his walk-in-wardrobe I grab a Guns'n'Roses shirt off the hanger and open a couple drawers before coming across his boxers. Grabbing a black pair I pull them up my legs, the towel secure in my armpits.
Once they're on I glance behind me before dropping the towel in order to get the shirt on. Hearing Isaac's footsteps I struggle to pull the crew neck over the towel decor that sits atop my head. Just as I pull it down I hear his voice behind me.
"Well it looks like you found my clothes." Smiling sheepishly I shrug as I turn around, only to be met with a dripping Isaac leaning against the doorframe, arms crossed, his towel loosely secured around his waist. Biting my lip my eyes wander momentarily, noticing his eyebrow cock up I clear my throat before speaking.
