On the next morning, they quickly packed their stuff and got into the car. This time, Elena was allowed to put on Fall Out Boy, a band they both liked. Back in London, Elena dropped Charlotte off at her flat and continued to her own home that was further in the city centre.
Charlotte immediately called her other best friend Alex.
“Alex, you won’t believe what happened!” she said instead of a greeting.
“Let me guess: Harry met you after the show and fell undeniably in love with you and now wants to marry you?” he asked sarcastically.
“Exactly!”
“Wait what really?”
“Yes, really really. The first part anyway.”
Alex groaned. “You are never going to let me hear the end of it, are you?”
“Nope.” She grinned. “We even exchanged phone numbers. But I won’t text him today, I don’t want to seem desperate.”
“But you are” Alex pointed out.
“Yeah, but he doesn’t need to know that. I’ll wait until tomorrow.”
“Great, so that means we have the day to hang?”
“Sure, let’s meet at The Waiting Room in an hour.”
“K, Bye.”
When she got there, Alex had already ordered. She sat down and asked the waiter for some sausage rolls with Deptford Death Sauce and an orange juice. “Are you sure you wanna do that?” asked Alex “I mean, you are aware that this is with habanero peppers, right?”
“I am. I’m feeling…spicy today.”
“Suit yourself. And now spill. I can see that you are dying to tell me everything.”
Charlotte excitedly moved to the edge of her chair and leaned forward. “It was cray-cray! The concert was amazing, I cried because it was so wonderful, and I also almost fainted when Harry looked at us.” Over the next hour, Charlotte explained the events of the day before in great detail while Alex listened patiently.
“Dang girl, you must be so happy right now. If you need any advice, you can come to me.”
“Thanks dude, you’re awesome. But, moving on, how are you doing? Found yourself a significant other?”
The blush was almost invisible on Alex’ dark cheeks, but she could see it faintly. “Actually, I think I have. She is very beautiful and fun to be around. I don’t know if I should tell her though, I think she likes somebody else.”
She tried to mask her surprise. “That’s great! Who is it? Do I know her?”
“Probably you do. But I am not willing to share just yet.”
“Oh come on! I’ve told you about every guy!”
“First of all, that’s not true. What was with Jeremy, huh? Second, just wait, I’ll tell you eventually.”
Charlotte huffed. “Don’t bring him into this, you know I don’t like that topic. And fine, I won’t bother you about it again. You tell me in your own time.”
They paid and left the café, taking the underground to Alex’ flat. He had two roommates, Jesse and Steve, who were both home at the moment.
“Charlotte! Nice to see your stupid face again!”
“Hey Jesse. This place is a mess” she stated, looking around.
“Aww, soothe your boobs! We are three college dudes living together. Do you think we clean?”
“Well, obviously you don’t, but that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t.”
They broke into laughter. “Do you wanna play LOL with us?” asked Steve.
“Sure. But you know that I suck at it, don’t you?”
“Doesn’t matter. Let’s play!”
They wasted away the hours, only stopping to get pop tarts. By the end of it, Charlotte had finally managed to become an almost decent player. “Okay guys, I hate to say this, since playing League of Legends was actually fun, but I got to go. See you soon!”
“See you Charlotte!” they chorused and continued with their game. Unfortunately, she had college the next day, so she went to bed early, listening to One Direction music until she fell asleep.
A./N.: Yeah so here you have the second chapter guys! I hope you like it. I will try to upload another chapter this weekend, but I cannot guarantee it. Picture on the side is Alex.
