Letting the attendant do the introductions as I see no reason to not let the pretty thing not do her job as I stood there. Waiting for the ruler here to get to why I'm really here in such a manner. These assholes usually stick to their supposed court etiquette, like sending an attendant with a message and not just an armed escort to lead me here at bolt point.
Letting the attendant get through the introductions to their ruler. Before butting in saying, "If we don't get this show on the road, you will have to deal with a very angry golem that doesn't take well being away from me too long."
I chuckled as the ruler's eyes went wide, realizing who the man before them was. Before gesturing for the attendant to come close, asking in a whisper, they think I can't hear in a somber tone, "how long has he been away from Artemis?"
I smiled a knowing smile at the female ruler's discomfort as she tried in a pleasant tone. "Let us get on to business. I have called you here about a problem we have out in the countryside. One of our villages along the river has had trouble with a Minotaur causing problems running amuck.
Leading to our harvests being lower than they should. As the farmers and farmhands have refused to work with such a monster in the area. The area was once known for a large herd of these creatures. They were all killed off as far as we knew up to this point."
Thinking about asking what kind of bounty the creature had and what they planned to do if we said no. The attendant seeing the look of do, I want to do this, do I not want to do this. The attendant asks if the ruler can sweeten the reward a little.
The ruler speaks up, saying, "I would be cheaper than having a legion march on the area to kill the beast. Whether we kill or capture the creature is no concern of hers as long as the farmers can produce them.
This matter has gone on far too long as we have sent small units to deal with the creature, but they all end up dead or maimed in the process. The next step would have been to send a large number of soldiers in.
Asking if "She had anything we would want like a military-grade flight stone or could put the word out were looking for one." She cocks an eyebrow, saying, "You know that most people in the world wouldn't part with something like that, never mind to a man who they don't know what he plans to do with it."
Smiling, looking her straight in those big brown eyes, "All I ask is that you put the word out that I would be willing to work for such a reward. That I need no money for this task of yours." With that, she shrugs as she adjusts her legs, coming to sit with her leg resting on her other knee.
Her dress looking fantastic against her skin tone and eye colour as she looks at me more closely. Trying to see If we were indeed insane as only a sizeable dangerous monster would ever call for such a reward to be in place of monetary compensation.
But then again, this was the most renowned hunter of the monstrous in the world. The myths surrounding him seem to be what makes legends leading to that his crest, making people nervous everywhere he goes.
There is always trouble of some kind he is looking for, whether it be not evil or the worst kind of situation. Thinking over what she can do, she asks an interesting question "If I do as you request for payment for this reward, what do I get in exchange?
It is a huge ask, after all." What would a woman of your esteem want from a man like myself who has no reason to hold powers in any court or have any real power, so to speak. She gives me a cheeky smile.
"There is something you can give me," she leaves me hanging for a few minutes. I will say she was a good-looking woman. Yet, I have plenty of ladies to hold my attention at this time. Someone of a royal bloodline wasn't and isn't as attractive as they usually have servants do everything.
