hello everyone. i just woke up and i saw a bunch of accusations going around about jacob liking pro trump, anti BLM, homophobic etc.. tweets.
while this may all have happened in 2017, it is still very hurtful to me (as a bisexual arab immigrant) and so many other people. it is not okay and we should not just brush it off.
i am deeply hurt, disappointed and disgusted like many other people who blindly supported this man just to wake up to this shit one day. but thats really just how it always is.
i am hoping that statements and apologies will be made soon because he does sort of seem like a changed person.
but remember! YOU CANNOT ACCEPT APOLOGIES THAT ARE NOT YOURS TO ACCEPT. you can only accept the ones that apply to you so please be respectful
racism, homophobia, islamophobia, antisemitism, xenophobia, transphobia, abeleism and so much more are NOT tolerated on my page or anywhere near me. please refrain from invalidating people's trauma and experiences just because you wanna kiss this mans ass and ignore his wrong-doings.
with that said, i might most likely continue this book and write jacob the way i imagined him to be, as some others will. a sweet, caring, sarcastic, kind and supportive human rights activist. it just really sucks that he's not that way but this isn't all too surprising to me. if many of you feel like you cannot continue reading or supporting this book and you feel sick and uncomfortable i 100% understand that.
