I peddled furiously through the dark and rainy forest. One time, the wheel stuck in the mud, and I had to get off my bike and push it out of the puddle. I was biking for hours until I finally reached my street. I peddled down the lane, but it was rainy and slick out and I wasn't thinking. I turned to look behind me since I heard a car, but my tire wheeled around as well, causing me to land harshly on my ankle. I sat in the road, crying, for hours until my parents showed up. They pulled down the lane and saw my bike and I sprawled on the wet cement road. I heard my mum scream as she jumped out of the car. She rushed over to my side and carried me into the house. She lay me down on the couch and my father called 9-1-1.
10 minutes after he called, the ambulance showed up. They put me on a stretcher and sent me to the hospital. They announced I had broken my ankle, so they gave me a cast and crutches. 3 months later, my ankle was healed. It was only 9 months until I turned 11. Would I learn about You-Know-Who yet? I hoped so.
I went back to Godric's Hollow on a fine spring day so I wouldn't get rained on again. I walked back to my old house and looked in the windows. No one was there. I breathed a sigh of relief and turned around to see a beautiful barn owl perched on top f the griffin statue. It flew up to me and tried to hand me a letter. All of a sudden, Matti came outside screaming, "Give me that letter, girl! I told you to never come back here!" Matti turned to the owl and said, "She's not 11 yet, dimwit! Bring it to her when she's 11!" She swatted at the bird and took my letter with her back inside.
Once back at my house, I decided I needed to go on a field trip. I packed a bag full of food, and I set back off to Godric's Hollow to get my letter.
When I got back to Godric's Hollow, I saw Matti guarding the door. I snuck past the fountain and down the Potter's driveway. Stealthily, I climbed over a vine-infested stone wall and saw the bright pink window sills of Matti's office. Being as quiet as I could, I walked up to the window and saw Matti sit down in her chair. She read the letter out loud but I couldn't hear her through the glass. I looked at the letter and caught the word "Hogwarts" before her big face appeared in the window. I gasped and fell backwards. She came storming out of the buildings front door, and I looked and looked but there was no other exit besides the way I came. I looked up quickly and saw a ledge that looked a bit to high for my reach. Hearing Matti's footsteps behind me, I jumped and swung myself into the ledge. I then grabbed a windowsill and hoisted myself onto it. Out of nowhere, all these ledges appeared, like magic. I got onto the roof and climbed down to the ground. I ran to my bike and rode off into the woods.
