The burning sensation returns.

Warm blood drips to the vinyl bathroom floor.

I watch as it seeps into the cracks and reintroduces my blood to the earth beneath it somewhere.

Hot, salty tears graze my lips and continue to rapidly roll down my neck.
My mind spins.

Where is that light I was promised to brighten this maddening darkness ?

Love.

Love is the strongest emotion, which makes it the most dangerous.

I have my scars to prove it.

No, not all physical.

My mind and feelings do exist too.

My once vigorous body slumps to the cold floor.

I take in dust through my nostrils and just let it flood my insides, not daring to breathe out.

My last thoughts are of the way your skin felt against mine .

You hate me.

I love you.

I wish to kiss your lips just one more time, just to feel that burst of light that sent shocks through my body and put me on a high.

I wish to gaze into your eyes and be lost in them and to be engulfed by the radiant wonders of your smile.

They don't come true.

As the darkness overcomes me and a voice finally tells me to rest, I whisper my love for you into the wind, hoping it'll find you when my body and our memories turn to dust.
