ive been running for hours. its now 11:27 pm. im so tired, my legs feel like jelly, and im out of breath. while i was walking through the woods, i noticed a spring. i went to the spring and drank the water. i didnt care if it made me sick, i was extremely thirsty.

a few hours went by, i checked my phone.

*4:25 am*

"god have i been running for that long? where even am i?"

i went to google maps and clicked on my location.

kingsville, north carolina

"god thats far.. well it's unlikely my dad will find me.. where do i go?"

i got snapped out of my thoughts when i heard rustling. i turned down my music and backed up a little. i made sure not to make a sound.

it stopped..?

i didnt move for a few more moments until i knew it was safe. when there was no sound anymore i thought it was okay to move.

something started running at me. i ran the opposite direction, too scared to look behind me. i ran until i didnt hear it moving anymore.

i look behind me to see... a dog..?

the dog walked to me and put their paw out at me. the dog seemed friendly so i took its hand. i started petting the dog looking for a collar, but it didnt have one. im guessing its a stray.

"hey buddy! (authors note: its a female dog. i am not gonna include eden look at her private area LMAOO) im gonna name you.. anika!" i said to her as she wagged her tail, i assumed she was happy.

we continue walking, hopefully finding somewhere to stay. as we continue walking, i look up to see the sunrise. i look at my phone to see the time is now 6:36 am.

"god we need to hurry, my legs hurt so bad."

<time skip: 2 hours-8:57 am>

as we were walking we found an abandoned house. anika gets in front of me and walks in like she was protecting me from something. i stay back while she searches the inside. i look at the outside of the house, it looks old, with vines on it, worn wood, and slight rust. i go inside and meet with anika. the inside looked brand new. i turned on a light to see if the electricity worked, the light turned on and the house lit up. i looked around for a bit more, there was an upstairs, running water, a bit of food, two bathrooms, and two bedrooms. in the master bedroom there was led lights, a bathroom built in, clothes, and comfortable bed. in the other bedroom there was nothing but a bed. i was surprised this place was abandoned, but it worked nonetheless. anika layed on the master bedrooms bed while i went outside. there was still a problem. i have to find a way to make money to keep the running water and electricity.

<time skip 4 hours-1:12 pm>

me and anika went through the woods trying to find a road. we kept walking till we heard cars, we looked around to see a road with a gas station near it. we walk near the gas station to see a sign:

this was it, this is what i needed! i walk into the store to see a woman, she looked about 18-22 years old, and very pretty.

"oh hi! anything i can do for you?" the woman asked sweetly.

"oh- uhm- yes actually uh- i seen you guys were hiring?" i asked, being terrified of talking to anyone right now.

"yes! yes we are! would you like me to interview you?" she asked with a huge smile.

"yea sure!"

"okay, how old are you?"
"15 almost 16."
"where are you from?"
"tennessee."

<time skip the next day-4:16 am>

i left the house and headed to town. i looked around town for around two hours and something caught my eye. a.. school bus? hm. never thought there would be a school around here, but it works i guess. i followed the bus to the school. it looked pretty big, and very nice to say the least. i decided to go in. i had no idea where to go, but i was too scared to ask for help, and people were everywhere, i seen two doors with no label, but decided to go in anyways. i walked in and it was pitch black.

"hello?" my voice was slightly shaking.

i heard another voice.

"hello?"
