A light buzz stabbed my ear, I couldn't hear anything. Or feel anything either. Everything was too bright for me to see.

Am I dying..?

The buzz faltered as I heard the sound of computer clicks. They were faint, like they were in another room. The soft breaths of a person passed by, so were the footsteps.

I opened my eyes to a white room, with a large table placed in the center. Science equipment filled the table.
"Fuck! It failed again!" The girl cried.

I know that voice.

"What's going on..?" I mumbled to myself, placing my hand on the table in front of me.

Something was definitely wrong when my hand just slipped through. What horrified me more was that my hand also seemed faded, and clear.

I fell on the cold floor, but I didn't touch it. I placed a hand over my mouth to realise I was not in my body. I was a soul. I could feel the black substance dripping down my sorrowed face. Was I crying? I couldn't tell.

As I left my thoughts, I noticed my head was inside the hidden cabinet of the table. Inside were papers and more science equipment. I noticed a newspaper was placed on top of the paper pile. It read:

'Two scientists on the rise!'

I gasped as I remembered the location I was at. I was back home! Ari is here somewhere!

I floated back up in excitement and looked around everywhere. She wasn't in the kitchen, the supply room or the office-

"Y/n..?"

I turned my head to see the same short, black-haired, olive-skinned girl I remembered, but with a few changes. She looked very sleep-deprived, and she had a white square eyepatch on her right eye. Her eyes looked dull, and her cheeks were stained with dry tears.
"Oh my god. I can't believe it." She said in denial.

"It Worked..!"

"SHIT!" She cried out before running towards me.
"You have no idea how much I've fucking missed you!"
I snapped out of my shock and took action.
"Me too, Ari!! I can't believe we have reunited again!!" I cried in excitement. I could feel the black substance produce more out of my eyeless black sockets. She stepped closer and reached out, I could see her hands were shaking. I felt a warm presence, but I just couldn't grab her hand.

I floated to her level.
"Did you do this..?" I asked quietly, looking down at my see-through body. She pointed to a cylinder object on the floor.
"I created a new gadget that can manipulate someone's soul and teleport them here, no matter what time line or where." She said confidently, wiping the tears pricking her eyes.
"That's amazing Ari!" I placed my hands on my hips. "Who knew you could make something on your own?" I said sarcastically.
"Shut up!" She giggled.

"But really, that's a real achievement, and in just within a month too!" I reply.
She nervously chuckled as she rubbed the back of her neck. She shot her head up again.
"But this isn't about me, it's about you! Where have you been!" She bit her finger. "It must be so hard to get around in a timeline you don't live in!"
"Actually I-"
"Come sit! Let's talk about it in the kitchen!" She gestured to the kitchen on the other side of the room.

She has a real habit of interrupting others. It's one of my pet peeves.

She ran around the table to the kitchen door, me floating quickly behind her.

"1985?!" She spat out the tea in her mouth in pure shock.
"Don't tell me..!" She hovered her hand over her mouth.
"Yup, I was spawned in front of Freddy's." I said laying back (kinda). The wispy tail of mine wrapped around the chair.
"Jesus Christ." She gasped. "Did you see any of the missing kids?!" She cried out in excitement. I shook my head, getting an 'aww' in response.
"But I encountered someone even better!" I said lifting up a bit. Her head shot up as she listened closely.

"Who? Tell me!" She exclaimed. I leaned in close, right next to her ear.
"None other than the trouble maker himself.! And I might be staying at hi-" Her warm hands startled me, making me return to my seat swiftly.
"William Afton?! As in, child murderer who dies and reincarnates into an edgy furry?!" She shouted in shock.
"Jeez kid could you be any louder!" I cried out, placing my hands over my ears. She bursted out laughing.

"W-wait so your actually-" She was barely breathing i stg "girl yo ass gon diee!!" she cried out hysterically laugh-crying.
"Well at least I'll be a cool robot instead of an old bitch!" She gasped sarcastically.
"That's it! I'm coming as soon as possible sis-." She mimicked a Karen-like voice. "Let's die together!!"

We laughed for a solid five minutes, but it slowly died down. As I huffed, she wiped a tear from her eye, but leaving the one under the eyepatch alone.
"Oh yeah, Ari." I said, her eyes perking up. "What's up with that eyepatch of yours? Got into a fight or something?" I asked.

She seemed to tense up at the question, which confused me.
"Y-yeah, I guess so!-"

The room around me glitched out, making it look more pixelated and bright.
"So it's time up already." Ari said solemnly. Her voice seemed so distorted. "I'll see you soon, boo."

Before I could say anything, I was blinded by the light once again and the glitches.

Ari's POV:

She's gone. Damn, I wish I made the programming last longer.

My phone vibrated as someone anonymous called. I reluctantly picked up, knowing who it was.
"Hello?"
"Did the malware work..?" A rough old voice replied.
"Yes it did, and don't you go asking for more payments."
"Awh that's too bad.." He paused.

"I would've loved your other eye sweetheart." He huffed lightly.

"Don't call me that, old man." I reply harshly.

"Always will be there if ya need anything sweethea-"

I hung up the phone and placed it on the table next to me.

I sighed loudly while leaning back on the chair. I lifted my arm and touched the eyepatch with my hand.

"Anything for you.."

I blushed softly and grinned.

"Dear y/n.."
