His skin bubbled and burned, healing and being seared over and over again. He was thrashing, screaming, blood red tears streaming down his face, eyes glowing bright white. He pulled against his restraints, wrists cut and bleeding. His voice was guttural as shrieked and yelled, telling of a hundred sins, thousands of hells and a million more damned. The black throne he was sitting on was vibrating with a low hum, shadows and lights flashing violently around them.

A dull pain was reverberating everywhere in her body, the taste of blood in her mouth as she watched the bloodcurdling scene. They weren't ready for this, didn't expect this. Tears ran down her face as she watched her friend being tortured, and the one causing him so much harm was someone so close to her, someone she cared so deeply for.

The room exploded with light, something was dragging her off. Too weak to do anything about it, she didn't resist. The world was swimming in shadows, her mind a puddle. She drifted off and everything went black.

The weeks after their escape was hell. Everyone was heavily injured and no one made it out without some serious blow being dealt to them. The healing centre was a cacophony of painful groans.

Nothing went right for them. They failed to rescue Tam and stop Gisela from doing whatever the hell she did to Keefe, and they all got injured, taking hits both physically and mentally.

At the very least though, Gisela failed to take Keefe with her.

"Sophie," a teal eyed brunette said, calling out to the person on the cot next to her.

"Yeah?" Sophie replied, in the middle of gulping down some sort of pink elixir.

"How did we manage to bring Keefe back with us? No one's told me. Did Gisela leave him with us on purpose? Or did you grab him somehow?" She was wondering why Gisela would leave Keefe behind after all the effort she went through, and figured it would be some action taken on their part.

"I didn't do anything. Tam attacked Gisela and threw him at us while we were escaping, he was punished for it I think." The blonde said quietly, her face dark and somber.

"Punished?! Is he ok?" Panic flared in her mind.

"He said he's fine, but who knows, he could've said that so we wouldn't worry."

Biana chewed her lip, worry, fear and anxiety brewing in her heart.

"You talked with him via telepathy right?"

"Yeah. I talked with him a couple days ago while you were still unconscious. I can try connecting you guys tonight if you want," Sophie offered.

"Thanks, I'll take you up on that," She replied, a small sting of jealousy in her heart.

"Biana, I need you to take a couple more elixirs. Here," Elwin came over to her cot, handing her vials of silver and yellow liquid.

"K," as a smooth, salty, liquid slid down her throat, Biana's mind was in turmoil, hoping, wishing that she would be able to see Tam again soon.

Her wish was soon granted, and it was much more horrible than she had ever imagined.

Two weeks had passed, Keefe was still in a coma.

"Any luck with Oralie's cache?" Biana's footsteps echoed through the hall.

"Not much, we need to retrieve Kenric's cache for any of it to make sense." Sophie replied, a few steps ahead of Biana.

They stopped. Sophie reached out and opened the door to the healing centre.

"Hey," a perfectly accented voice greeted them.
