Raul sat in his desk looking over at the clock on the wall, waiting for his 2nd hour to finish, so he could then go off to lunch. He was in art class talking to his 3 art friends, Alex, Dramier, and Sean. Sean and Dramier were both new friends he had just started to talk to. Alex was an old friend from middle-school. Raul wasn't used to being around so many friends. He heard them talking but never really paid attention to the conversations that were going on.

"Yo Raul." It was Alex. Alex was the only friend that he actually talked to.

"Hey." Raul was caught off guard. He then came back to reality and saw that all three of his friends were looking at him. He was wondering why.

"So who is it?" Dramier asked. Raul didn't know what she was asking about.

"About what?" He was still lost.

"Who've you been crushing on for the past few days bro.?" Sean was that one dude that always talked all 'street'.

"Oh. No. Nobody. What kind of question is that?" Raul saw that they were coming on to him.

"Dude, I see all your sketches in your notebook." Sean tossed Raul's notebook towards him. "They all sketches of the same girl."

Raul felt the pressure of his friends. He was getting ready to tell them and suddenly...

DOOOOOP!

That was the bell.

"Maybe tomorrow guys." Raul got up, notebook in his hand, and rushed out the classroom.

Raul felt the pressure run out of his body as he going down the hallway. He stopped at his locker put his notebook in his locker and headed off to the lunchroom.

He looked for his table. The table were the few friends he had sat in. Raul knew he didn't have much friends but he liked to think of those few friends as really special. He kept in his mind that if had too much friends he would spend too much trying to keep up with them all. He was happy that way.

Raul looked over and saw that Alex was already sitting down. Alex had the same lunch as him. Raul put his backpack down besides the lunch table and pulled up chair. He sat on the opposite side of Alex.

"Wassup man." Raul spoke slightly out of breath. Alex didn't say anything and just stared at Raul for a few seconds.

"It's Kimberly, isn't it?" Raul didn't say anything and just tried to pretend that he was looking for something in his backpack.

"I knew it." Alex chuckled. "I don't see what the big deal is yo. I mean you can't even tell your friends who you're crushing on." Raul didn't say anything. Alex then sighed and looked over and saw this one girl coming over towards to their table.

"Hi guys!" It was Kimberly.

"Hey Kim." Alex would always try to make the awkwardness go away by acting like nothing was going on. Kim waved at Alex.

Kim was standing behind Raul. He looked and just smiled back at Kim. Kim then leaned in closer and hugged Raul.

"I missed you yesterday. Why weren't you in geometry?" Kim was still hugging Raul.

"Oh, I had a doctor's appointment so I had to leave early." Kim finally let go of Raul.

She pulled up a chair, put her things on the table, and sat right next to him.

"Well, you could have said something." Kim took off her black hoodie and hugged Raul again.

"Imma go get lunch. Do any of you guys want anything?" she looked at Alex and then at Raul. They both nodded no. "Okay, I'll be back."

"Dude, she totally wants you." Alex smiled over at Raul.

"You really think so?" asked Raul.

"Dude of course." Alex always made hand gestures when he talked. "Take it from me."

Alex had a history of being in a lot of relationships. He wasn't a player though. The girls would always break up with him or cheat.

Suddenly Michael and Bree came over. Michael was one Alex's friends and Bree was Alex's current girlfriend.

"Hey Alex!" screamed Bree. She ran towards Alex and hugged him.

Michael was still slowly walking towards the table.

Raul watched as they sat down both on either side of Alex. Last year Alex had become friends with both of them in Biology. Raul found it funny because back in middle-school none of them spoke to each other. Raul knew that they were his friends too but it just never felt the same. If it wasn't for Alex none of them would of even have spoken to each other.

"Hey Alex guess what." said Bree. "What." replied Alex. "I love you." Bree kissed him on the cheek.

Raul looked over with jealousy. He pulled out his favorite book "The Number 7" by Lex Lero. Ironically that book had a lot of things in it that Raul could relate too. Raul was getting more and more lost into the book and suddenly somebody touched him.

"Hey Raul." It was Dramier. She didn't have the same lunch hour as Raul.

"What are you doing here? Don't you have health right now?" Raul always asked the bad questions.

"Geesh. You say that like you don't even want me here. Ms. Sunford isn't here today" Dramier looked around for a chair. "Is anybody sitting next to you?"

"Yeah." replied Raul. Dramier grabbed another chair that was nearby and sat next to him.

"Raul!" said Kim excitedly.

Raul looked behind him instantly.

"What is it?" Raul yelled. That whole section of the lunch room was staring at Raul.

"Hehe. Nothing." Kim walked slowly towards the lunch table.

Raul felt real embarrassed. He sunk his face back into his book.
