"Why are you so loud Raul?" she knew why but she liked teasing him.
She ran her fingers through Raul's hair and sat down next to him. She leaned near him and held on to him for a while, almost cuddling with him. Alex looked over giving him a look and making s dirty hand signal. Raul flicked him off. Alex was always as asshole around Raul when Kim was with them. really he was an asshole all the time but more or so often when he was around them.
"You guy's done being weird?" Alex asked. Dramier
Kim stopped hugging Raul. Feeling a bit embarrassed. Her skin was nearly pale white so you could easily tell when she blushed.
"Hehe. Sorry. Did u want something Alex?" she asked so nonchalantly
"Well as you know it's almost Halloween. So I was wondering if you guys wanted to do something. I don't really have much in mind but I wanted to know if you guys wanted to do something. I'm down for whatever yo." Alex then sat back with his arms stretched out backwards.
Nobody said anything for a while.
"Well do you guys wanna come over my house?" said Dramier. "Nobody is gonna be at my house for that whole weekend. And my house gets really creepy when I get left all alone to it."
"I don't see a problem with that." Said Alex.
"I'm down." Said Michael who had been quiet this entire time.
"How about you guys?" Dramier asked Raul and Kim.
"Well I don't know. I don't think I'll have a ride." Raul said that disappointedly. Raul knew his parents would let him. They encouraged him to always go out places and Raul had never gone out to someone's house before.
"Well I can give you a ride Raul." Said Dramier. She had gotten a car that past summer.
"I'll give him a ride." Said Kim as she held onto Raul "I'm sure my mom wouldn't mind. And besides I live closer to him."
"Ok then." Dramier said. "You guys have to bring the food though."
"It's settled then." Said Alex. "I got the drinks."
Raul wasn't so sure about this. He knew his parents would be ok with it but he was beginning to get the impression that Kim really like him. He was scared of becoming more than a friend to her. Although he liked her too. He decided that after lunch he was going to ask Alex if he could help him with his problem.
After lunch he only saw Alex one more time in his English Class. Raul didn't sit by him because Alex always had his girlfriend all over him in that class. The teacher didn't seem to mind either. She was actually one of the coolest teachers in the school. She would just get a bit angry when the 'bad kids' would say the n- word. She usually gave a long speech about why to never use that word and threatened to suspend anybody that would say it but she never did.
Alex sat in the back by himself at first but Bree, who had been crushing on him since the first day of high school couldn't help herself but to just throw herself at him.
Raul thought it through and sat next to him.
"Hey man." Said Raul out of breath from trying to get to class early.
When Bree walked in she simply just sat on the other seat adjacent to him. Some other kid sat there but nobody would tell Bree to move. She had this cheerleader thing going on where she thought she could do whatever she wanted. The other girl just sat somewhere else when she saw her on the seat.
"What are you doing over here Raul?" she asked in a sharp tone. " You took my seat you know." she added in sweetly.
"Well I thought I'd join you guys since you're my only other friends in here." Raul tried to sound casual.
"It's cool Raul." Said Alex. "I was wondering why you didn't sit here in the first place. "
"Yeehh ahh." He said nervously. "I didn't want to end up by myself for the rest of the school year Ya know"
"It's cool man. Just don't take my girl's seat next time." Said Alex jokingly.
Ms. Francis walked in the room.
"Sorry I'm late class." she said out of breath. "I took a long lunch today with my friends. I almost Forgot to come back"
"It's chill Miss F. You didn't have to come back." Somebody said.
"Oh no. I think you guys would miss me too much." She answered back sarcastically "Although I don't have much planned today. Soooo... how about you guys just sit back and work on your short stories."
"Feel free to chat if you need some ideas." She added gingerly.
She pulled out some blank cover book and started reading to herself. This was how it was almost every day. She rarely taught anything. Just told everybody to write a short story and turn it in by the end of the week.
"Alex can I ask you something bro?" Raul asked.
"Go ahead man. Although you technically already did."
Raul wanted to keep going but Bree was all over him already. She would always get up from her seat and sit on Alex.
"Well. I wanted to ask if you know how to tell a girl that you only want to be friends?" Raul then looked away as if he didn't want to hear the answer.
Bree didn't say anything and looked at Alex.
"Look man I can't tell you exactly how to. But try to think of the pluses of being more than friends with a girl." His girlfriend got closer to him as he said that.
Raul sat back and kept to himself for the rest of the period. He always took Alex's words to heart. Kim was Raul's friend for the longest and there wasn't a downside to being friends with her. Raul realized he had some serious thinking to do for himself.
