Chapter Four

Shadow watched the female fox angrily yell and screech about how he could've died. Or how that would have left her! She acts as if she would have been sad, which she wouldn't. Shadow rolled his eyes mentally, "okay Mum." He said quietly. "Go to your room! Now!!!"
Shadow nodded obediently, starting to walk away. He listened to the floor boards creak as he walked up the stairs to his room. His ears twitched at the sound of voices coming from his and Mephiles' room. The ebony vamphog walked to the door, he put his ear to it.

"Oh Hun! That sounds horrid, I heard werehogs smelled like onions," the voice sounded familiar...
"Rouge?!" Shadow asked almost silently. He opens the door, and sure enough, there sat the fellow vamp on his bed. She was wearing a normal grey dress that showed off her curves. Her large wings were folded back. "Rouge! What are you doing here?!" Shadow asked. The bat looked over. She smiled widely, "oh hey Shadow! I just came by for a visit!" She said innocently, Shadow crosse his arms. "Right, what are you here for really?" He asked sternly.
"I'm telling the truth!" Rouge argued, "I heard about what happened last night and I came or to check on you two!!"

Mephiles nodded in agreement. Shadow narrowed his eyes.

Rouge's POV

Shadow could be a real pain in the arse to convince sometimes! Why can't the guy loosen up sometimes?
"Shadow stop being a butt! I'm your friend an that's what a friend does! They check on their other friends!!" I say, crossing my arms and mimicking his expression. "I'm sure your just feedin off of the information Mephiles is giving you." He said coldly. "No, well maybe, but that's not the point!!!" I say urgently, "I heard Koda's son took a liking to you!"

Shadow paused for a moment, I thought, 'didn't he know that?" It was a minute before he said, "You mean the blue one?" He asked. "Yeah!!! Old Koda's been trying to get him to notice a choice of a mate, an he's probably not gonna be pleased if the one his son chose is a Vamp." I said with a grin. Shadow didn't look amused, "That is... Odd." He said slowly. "Vamphogs and Werehogs do not mix, if I'm remembering right!" Mephiles chirped. "It said so in a book mum got us!"

Shadow and I looked at the younger vamphog. "What? It says so in the truce... We learned this." The snake eyed brother of Shadow said. "If I remember, it said, "Any contact between Werehogs and Vamphogs is forbidden unless for ye ancient meetings held once a month.' If Koda's son chose my brother as his mate then it's breaking the truce!" Mephiles exclaimed. "What about you little one?" Shadow asked angrily, "The silver one, he already chose you. So technically your breaking the truce too."

I watched Mephiles' eyes grow small in realization. I snorted, "Are you two that clueless?"
They looked at me, and I grinned.

"Rules are always meant to be broken..."
