The car ride. L

Hey guys! First authors comment on this story! Just popping on to say sorry that this chapter is so short! I'm currently finishing coursework for my lectures , but I wanted to get something up - Even if it is small! :)

Levi's Pov)

I looked at Eren and frowned , the brat had his hands on my freshly cleaned windows , his nose pressed up on the glass ; watching the scenery fly by.

I sighed , not wanting to disturb him , 'So brat , have you considered my offer yet?'

Although my eyes were glued on the road in front , I noticed his head spin around to look at me , before leaning back in his chair and placing his gaze on the dashboard , 'Levi I told you already , I cant'

'That's bullshit' , I reached my hand over to the compartment conveniently placed above his knees , before reaching in and grabbing  the sunglasses I had placed in their earlier. I slipped them on and ran my hand through my hair, roughing it up slightly. ' You said you liked the offer , why not take it up? You cant please everybody else all of the time and neglect your feelings, sometimes you need to please yourself'

He sighed gently as his shoulders dropped slightly in what I can only presume is a state of comfort , ' It's not that. Me and Kasa have been insuperable for years , she really wanted this , it would be wrong for me to accept it''

My eyes flickered over to his seat , he continued, ' And besides I already have a small job, I might as well give this to someone who really needs it'

My left eyebrow raised , and my glasses fell to perch on my nose , 'You have a job?'

He smiled , 'Yeah I do'.  His eyes seemingly went in to a romantic daze for a little while, staring intently at the road ahead ,  he shook his head gently and cleared his throat before smiling like a child, 'It's at a cafe , or um a plant shop'

My hands tightened around the wheel. Although I had only run in to Eren a few times , he seemed to have a significant effect on me. In the lobby , I was only close enough to get covered in coffee because I was pulled to him and his kindness. I only let him stay in the meeting because I thought his eyes could brighten my normally dark office. I haven't seen much of him , but he isn't like any normal brat , he doesn't pretend to be something he's not ,  or put on any shows to impress me , quite frankly I don't know if he's comfortable or intimidated by me , and that's a breath of fucking fresh air, 'Do you not know where you work brat?'

His cheeks flushed pink and he laughed slowly , ' I do , it's just hard to describe... and i'm not a brat!'

I smirked slightly at his response , 'We have time Eren , it's not like were going anywhere anytime soon'

'Well its a plant shop that serves coffee! Or maybe you could say its a coffee shop that sells plants. Its hard to describe unless you see it for yourself' , His hand flew up to his head to rub it awkwardly , 'But it's really fun! I work there with my friend Armin , so most of our shifts are just filled with us laughing and having a good time. And the customers are lovely! Some even know us by our names , as we do theirs. Like this girl called Sasha and her boyfriend Connie , they come in all the time! Of course there are the not so nice customers... but i'm sure they are lovely normally! Just a bad day or something you know?'

 I looked over to him, 'Not so nice customers?'

His eyes saddened ever so slightly , as we drove into the neighbourhood where he had directed me to , 'Yeah you know , the customers who come in and throw all types of stuff at you. Swearing and shouting because it wasn't 100% perfect , or because they're coffee took over a minute to make. Some just come in to laugh at you'

The car fell into a comfortable silence after that. I was inclined to ask what he meant by some just laughing at him , but his head turned to look out of the window shortly after so I let the question go. 

After a few more minutes Eren told me which way to go as the roads made it hard to tell, and after a while we got to his house. Or flat , I should say.

Hi kneeled down to unbuckle his seatbelt before smiling intently at his home , 'It's nothing special , but we tried to make it look homely' . He leaned forward slightly , and his body brushed against mine as he pointed to the balcony , ' Our flat is the top one , see those flowers? I planted those! Pretty cool right?'

He returned to his seat and turned to me , I nodded 'Yeah , it is brat'. 

'Anyway I better get going now!', he opened the door and swung his body out , before poking his head into the car and grinning, 'Thank you so much Levi, for everything today'.

My eyes narrowed as I looked at him , 'Tch , It's fine brat'.

He closed the door gently and walked around the car , turning to wave slightly before walking away. I rolled down my window , 'Oh and Eren'.

He turned , 'Mhm?'

I pushed my glasses back up to my eyes and turned to face the front , before igniting the car and preparing to leave , 'Work starts on Monday, 10 am , don't be late'
