Eagerly scanning through the newspaper you desperately searched for a suitable job, unfortunately for you, most of the given options either didn't pay enough of just weren't really what you where looking for. Why is this so hard you thought as you tugged at the nots in your hair. Surely there had to be some decent job available!

Your grip on your scalp tightened, your knuckles turning a pale shade of (s/t), as you used your dominant hand to flip through the pages. Luckily the ringing of your phone stopped you from yanking out anymore hair. An aggravated sigh escaped your mouth as you aggressive grabbed the phone, "what!" You snapped, your eyebrows scrunched up in irritation.

"Not the nicest greeting but hello to you too!" Said Jamie, you could practically hear the grin in his voice.

"what do you want, Jamie" you replied rubbing your temples "I'm really not in the mood".
"Oh yeah I forgot you're looking for a job aren't you? How's that working out for ya?" Cheeky bastard he knew darn well 'how that was working out for ya'.

"For your information it's going Just fine," you lied, "now get to the point I'm really busy and I don't have time for your lame-ass comments".

"Fine, fine I just thought you'd wanna take a break, so I called to tell you I'm waiting outside your door and we're going to the coffee shop".

"I just said I was b- wait your outside my door?"

"Well I was" he said as he walked into the room, hands in his pockets and a lazy grin on his pale face, "Jamie, I already told you I can't my dad would be so mad if he found out".

"well he already hates me and he'll probably forget by tomorrow anyways".

"yeah well how am I supposed to leave the house he's not just gonna let me walk out the door," your dad had always been a bit of a pushover and quite protective too but he meant well, you where his only daughter and he just wouldn't be able to forgive himself if anything happened to you.

"just tell him you couldn't find anything in the papers so your going to look for a job in town, I mean it wouldn't be a total lie," suggested Jamie you knew he wouldn't stop pestering you until you said yes, "you know what fine but if gets he suspicious I'm snitching!" You threatened pointing at him accusingly.

"fine fine" he said as he raised his hands in defence, "but your not going out like that" he stated mimicking your actions.
"Why what's wrong with what I'm wearing?"

"Sis, look at yourself your wearing joggers, crocs, a dressing gown and oh my god are you wearing socks Jesus who in their right mind would wear crocks with socks," he stared you down unimpressed as you shifted under his gaze "alright I get it" you trailed of "just give me a minute." You begrudgingly dragged your body out the kitchen and up the stairs into your room.

You came out moments later with a more 'appropriate' Outfit which happened to be a plain grey T-shirt and high waisted jeans accompanied by a plain zip up hoodie which you had lazily draped over your figure. "Eh boring but better I guess," commented Jamie.

"that is sooo funny in fact it's so funny I forgot to laughing!" You said sarcastically he simply rolled his eyes in return and scoffed which surprised you since usually he'd sass back or come up with a snarky remark.

You soon prepared to leave and where about to head out the door when a firm hand grabbed your shoulder, holding you in place. "And where might you be going?" Asked your dad his voice was calm but his icy glare told you otherwise.

"heeeey dad," you slurred. "I- well um you see, I couldn't find anything in the papers so I was going to see if there was anything in town" you tried to sound as convincing as possible.

"oh really?" He raised an eyebrow "then how come your little friends here I'm sure your capable of finding a job on your own" damn it he was good.

You panicked uncertainty visible on your face "um he- I, we um..."

Jamie seemed to realise your struggling and stepped in "with all due respect sir, I was helping (y/n) here I just thought we'd cover more ground with two people," he placed a reassuring hand on your back. Your dad seemed sceptical but soon gave in "alright... I suppose your right but be back by 6 we're having lasagna tonight, alright?"

"yeah Sure I'll probably be back by then anyways," you said glancing at the clock. It was quarter to three you had more then enough time. "Be Good, you kids can go now, don't be getting into trouble."

"sure thing dad".

Once you were fully out the door Jamie spoke up "holy shit that worked". You couldn't help but feel guilty for lying to your dad.

You sat silently in the cafe staring out the window, as you patiently waited for Jamie to return with your drinks it had been around ten minutes since he had went to retrieve your orders and he still hadn't returned. God how long does it take to grab some god-damn coffee. You turned away from the window and extended your neck in hopes of spotting him and you did, his uncept blond hair was painfully noticeable in the crowd, he kind of looked like the main male protagonist in some sort of anime you chuckled at the thought.

You slowly rose from your spot and walked in Jamie's direction, he had his top half leaned over the counter and his face rested on his palms as he used his elbows to prop himself up. The cashier was giggling her shoulders slightly bouncing as she laughed at something he had said. You knew what he was doing, he was flirting with her to get a free meal. As you came closer to the two their conversation became clearer.

"Anyway sweet-cheeks" you internally cringed at the pet name, "it seems my order is here" he motioned towards the two cups placed by the cash register, her smile slowly faltered at the sight of two cups. "Oh it seems it has," he seemed to quickly almost automatically notice the change in her tone. God how many times had he done this.

"don't worry hun I'm here with my sister, I'll have you know all of this" he jabbed his fumb at his chest "is still available" her face turned a heavy red as she stumbled over her words.

"say how about I offer you a deal?" He gave her a close eyed smile "you let me have the drinks for free and I'll give you my number how does that sound" she seemed to pause for a second rethinking her options before giving a small nod, her shy smile hidden by her bangs "great!" Exclaimed Jamie as he egearly reached for the cups.

"actually do you mind writing down your number for me? I seemed to have forgotten my phone at home," a sly grin stretched across his face. Cheeky mother fucker. The girl simply tucked a strand of hair behind her ear before scribbling down her number on a napkin "nice, I'll be sure to call you," giving her a quick wink and finger guns before approaching me.

"and that's how it's done."

"that really messed up",

"what can I say, the ladies just can't get enough of me! But look on the bright side free food!" He proudly raised the cups in triumph.

An airy chuckle escaped your mouth as you shook your head in disapproval, "come on let's eat outside" you said grabbing his wrist and leading him to an outside table.
