Streaker suddenly slowed down, and he tapped his tail lightly on the ground for the other group of get in position. He crouched down after Heather, Seedy, Mild, Snake, and Milky went into the bushes, signaling the others to do the same.
Ahead, there was a group of seven or so wolves, who were hunting. Fleck felt a flash of anger. Do that on your own land!
One of the intruders, a striking orange male, spoke to a black female. "Are you sure she shouldn't leave?"
"Thorn's orders." growled the female. "We need to hunt on Streaker's Group's land for the yummiest prey."
"Dumb idea." growled the male. "Someone's going to get hurt."
The black female spun around, to probably cuff the other wolf, but Streaker sprang forward with a howl of rage. Fleck jumped out after him, and Fleck and Birch leaped on a silvery-gray female.
The female let out snarl of defiance, and snapped at Birch's hind leg. Fleck growled and cuffed her on the ear, so hard she drew blood. The female screamed in agony and bit Fleck's stub tail.
Seething in rage and agony, Fleck clawed deep scratches at the female's chest, while the female grabbed onto hindquarters. Fleck felt herself slipping, and she was about to fall when Birch bit down on one of the female's ears, ripping at its soft flesh.
Screeching, the wolf flung Fleck off and backed away. Fleck landed on her side, laying there, winded. And a heavy weight fell on her and something bit down her neck.
Fleck couldn't move, but she screamed in agony, trying desperately to throw the female off. She was about to give up when the weight was wrenched off of her back. Fleck stumbled to her paws, feeling a slow stream of blood drip down her legs.
Suddenly, the clearing was quiet, and the intruders were backing away, towards they way had came, and they fled. Fleck could barely move her neck, scanning to see if everyone was alright. Everyone had at least some scratches, but her wounds were by far the worst.
The pain came rushing back to her, and she fell back on the ground, her neck wet with her own blood. Streaker's voice sounded from far away. "Is she alright?"
Another distant voice answered. "She'll be fine with we get her help quickly."
Sleep tugged at her limps, and she closed her eyes, and the whole world spun into darkness.

"Fleck! Wake up!"
Fleck shifted, feeling the hard ground beneath her side.
The voice came again, insisting. "Wake up!"
Fleck couldn't open her eyes, but she recognized the scent of the speaker.
"Finch..." she whispered. She moved around, ignoring the agony of her neck wound. "Where are you?"
Her lost mate's scent touched her nose. "Wake up! You can't die! They still need you! They need you more then you need me!
"Wake up!"
