Blue's heart was racing out of her chest

Blue's heart was racing out of her chest. She was scared for her life running through the palace halls. This would be her only chance to claim her throne in front of the Royal Court and she needed to do it now.

Despite the guards' shouts for her to not run through the palace halls, despite the nobles in the halls staring at her being unladylike, despite her stupid high heels hurting her ankles, and giving her the urge to take them off, she must do this now.

To avenge her mother's death, she must address the King's Court. No, her Court.

Seeing the double doors at the end of the palace's corridors, she slams open the doors. She stared at the Courtroom, astonished. Paintings of the Gods, Goddesses, and Archangels detailed the ceiling, a mahogany throne with gold detailing for the King, and beautiful gold-dusted columns towards the ceiling filled the room. Even the air was calling Blue to her rightful throne, as it smelled like her late mother's hints of rosemary.

What intrigued her the most was the King's crown. It was made of the finest silver with beautiful sapphire detailing. It was supposed to be her crown. Her birthright.

When she finally met eyes with the King, he had the same fiery eyes she saw when she met him. They were glazed over with anguish and irritation.

"How dare you disturb my Court!" He roared. The room was so silent that she could hear the small whispers from the Gods themselves. Every Duke, Marquess, and Earl in Galawei, was staring at her.

It's time, she thought. Taking a deep breath and looking straight into the eyes of the King she declared, "I am Glacia Vasseveron, daughter of the Regina Cordelia Vasseveron, and I am here to claim my birthright to the Galaweian throne!"
