Chapter 19
He ogled the endless range of snowcapped peaks ahead of him while the tall trees of Deodhar covered the green valley below. Though the sun was still bright in the sky, it being a little before sunset, the winds were chilly giving his cheeks a light hue of pink. Warming his hands with the cup of coffee Abhijeet watched a lone bird sore the sky outside the window of his hotel room that he had just checked in. Behind him sat ACP sir and Aditya chatting about the journey sipping on their own coffees.
Another gust of wind and groaned Aditya...
Aditya - Abhijeet tum window band karoge? Ek toh yaha waise hi thandi se meri halat kharab ho rahi hai!
Abhijeet - Kya dad aap bhi! Itni achi jagah aaye hai kamse kam bahar sceney toh dekhne do.
Aditya - Itni hawa chal rahi hai aur tumhe window kholna hai! Bahar glass ke through bhi toh dekh sakte ho... Yaha heater bhi kam pad raha hai tumhare chakkar mai!
ACP - Tumhe pata nahi hai kya Abhijeet budhe logo ko thandi zayada lagti hai! (Winking)
Aditya - Prayduman tum zindagi mai kabhi meri side le sakte ho?
ACP - Waise toh nahi lekin...
Aditya - Lekin kya? Koi specific condition hai toh bata do mai puri karta hu!
ACP - Ha wahi toh bata raha hu. Waise toh nahi le sakta mai teri side lekin agar Abhijeet samne ho toh phir toh bilkul hi nahi le sakta!
Abhijeet chuckled and then smirked proudly at his father as he finally closed the window and came over to the couch.
Aditya - (grumbling) Meri hi galti hai! Sealed window banwani chahiye thi mujhe hotel mai!
They were staying in Aditya's hotel as he was into hospitality business and owned a five star hotel chain with hotels and resorts in all major cities and tourist destinations in the country.
Abhijeet - Bilkul bhi nahi dad! Yeh toh galat hai. Window agar sealed ho toh window ka fayeda hi kya!
Aditya - Thandi se aur tum dono se bachne ka fayeda hai!
Abhijeet - Lekin dad!
Aditya - Bhai maine toh kar liya decide... Waise bhi tum dono ko hi business ke naam se allergy hai toh tum dono apni duty karo mujhe meri hotels ke windows decide karne do!
Abhijeet - Mai kal hi Puneet (Aditya's PA) ko bolta hu ki windows ke mamle mai apki baat bilkul na sune!
Aditya - Ha ha dekh lenge!
ACP - (keeping down his empty coffee mug that he had enjoyed over his favourite TV show he had named 'Jeet-Adi banter') Ab agar tum dono ka ho gaya ho toh kaam ki baat kare? (To Aditya) Pure raste dimag khaya mera ki aage kya karege ab nahi janna tujhe?
Aditya - Ha right! Batao batao aage ka kya plan hai? Aa toh gaye yaha lekin dhundege kaise Daya ki family ko?
ACP - Records mai se uska address laya hu mai. Kal subah jake dekhte hai waha.
Abhijeet - Ha sir. Waise bhi Daya ko Mumbai aaye zayada waqt toh hua nahi hai. So mil toh jane chahiye woh log waha pe.
ACP - Right...
Aditya - Ok then. Kal subah nikalte hai...
Next morning the three of them took a cab to the Daya's address mentioned in the records. After a drive of an hour, to being with, they were welcomed by a huge manor in the poshest area of the city. Using their batch, they were finally able to get inside and were asked to wait in the living while the 'owner' arrived.
After 30 minutes had passed Aditya was already getting irritated. He muttered...
