Conclusion

What to make of all this? What's the truth? Is there even one truth? Or did they all happen at once? Its possible thanks to the headache that is Dragonbreaks but that explanation is rather lazy to me, I dislike the potential for convenience that dragonbreaks possess.

Written with uncertainty came up with their own, well researched theory that Akatosh and Lorkhan are the same god. As great as it is, I disagree with it. To much lore points to Lorkhan and Akatosh coming from opposite forces, and fighting each other, ending with Akatosh's victory and Lorkhan getting his heart ripped out. They seem to be natural enemies, like Scots and Englishmen, or Scots and the Japanese, or Scots and other Scots.

The more exiting conclusion is that the truth lies somewhere in between all of them. Remember his name means Doom-drum? Well music is a funny concept in Elder Scrolls. I'm not talking about the bard songs in taverns, but the stuff that makes up their reality.

Tonal manipulation is using "sounds" to alter reality. The most famous example is shouts. That's why you don't loose magicka when you use shouts as dragonborn, cause you're not utilizing actual magicka from Aetherius. You're manipulating the very fabric of mundus.

The masters of this was the dwemer, they used this power to build their cities, "robots" and forge their special metal.

How does this tie back to Mr Doom-Drum? Well drums are an instrument, and what sound does drums best resemble? A heart!

Loud, echoing, beats. A rather unnerving comparison but it seems to have been made intentional. Lorkhan's heart, beating of the heart, beating of the drum.

This connection made me think of war drums, certain cultures have indeed used those in real world history, like ancient China or African cultures.

And what are Elder Scrolls lore but an endless war between 2 sides?

Between order and chaos, men an mer, oppressor and slave.

It seems to have started between 2 cosmic opposites, not even possessing any kind of intellect, but just existing. And that natural conflict was passed down to the mortals, who are always so quick to hurt one another for any reason. Its a never ending duel, Akatosh and Lorkhan seemed to just have been the first 2 sentient beings to have fought.

Ever wondered why Lorkhan, Sithis spawn, created Nirn, the next step of reality? For being a spawn of non reality that would seem to go directly against his supposed nature.

Unless it was just step one of a grander plan?

And are we completely sure Sithis created Lorkhan? Cause if Sithis really is the opposite of existence than the very act of creation seems to go against that nature, unless Sithis does have a basic level conscience and awareness. Could it be that Lorkhan was more corrupted by Lorkhan and that's why he managed to convince the other Et'ada to make Mundus? Its just the men and mer pantheons that states Lorkhans birth is from Sithis, the Khajit and Redguards says he comes from somewhere else.

If I were to put everything into a cohesive story it would look something like this...

At first, there was nothing but cosmic energy, these energies lumped together into 2 opposite energies. One was order, the other was chaos. These 2 opposites pushed and pulled the empty space around them and on each other. From them other energies began to form, and over possibly millions of years (despite time not being a thing yet) two more sentient energies formed. One was Akatosh, but he had no name yet. And he was alone, he learned how to use his near limitless power to bend the cosmos around him. So he embarked on a grand experiment, made from his nature of order and time was born.

With time, much of the cosmos began to take a more solid shape, and true existence began to fill the void of non existence. Energies clumped together and formed other spirits that was much like Akatosh himself, these became the Et'Ada and he was alone no more.
