The one I say goodbye to at sunset
with tears in eyes
And hope in heart
Cuz I know you'll be here when I need you
As long as I can hold out for dawn

But as for me
I'll look to the moon
and take joy in it
as that light is only a reflection of your own, a reminder of the joy
you brought me perhaps for the last time
But for now I'll have the moon
And through the moonlight I'll smile
And remember those sunkissed summers
And those bright lit eyes

Perhaps with rose colored eyes
I'll see those times
Oh pretty and pink you were
Oh how red I know you'd get

My little star

For I know
you don't belong to me
And how you have a duty
to light up all those
across the world
And I'll take solace
that perhaps they deserve you.
And perhaps will take joy in your sight
the same as I
