I wasn't ready to be woken up by the earthquake that Desiree brought to my bed, but that's what happened. It would have been great to get a little more sleep, considering she drained me of all my energy yesterday.

I gave the best glare I could while wiping my hair away from my face. "You seriously couldn't have thought of a better way to wake me up, or, better yet, not wake me up at all?" I knew my questioning was in vain after noticing she was already ready to have yet another day on the town.

"I let you sleep for long enough, now you need to get ready." She started to rip away the blankets that gave me minimal protection. "We need to finish packing up so we can get moved in today. There's too many things we need to do for you to waste another second in bed. I've already got your outfit ready, so all that's left is getting whatever stuff you are taking."

I hadn't noticed the clothes we bought yesterday splayed out on my dresser until she gestured to them. I decided against telling her that I could pick out my own clothes and put them on while she searches my closet for bags. "I'm a little surprised that you are the one rushing to get things done. Since when did you want anything done before it absolutely had to be?"

"Since we got to decorate our dorm. Come on, Annie, do you really want to have a depressing room with empty walls to stare at while you are up all night doing homework? I know that I really don't. Plus, I'll let you organize so you don't too bored with the pretty stuff." She lightly smacked my arm and gave one of her killer smiles. Desiree truly had the most gorgeous smile out of anyone that I met, especially with her ever red lips and single dimple.

"I am shocked that I'm allowed any say in our room, even if it is just organizing." I joke as I grabbed the bags out of her hand to finish packing. "Alright, I can get started in here, if you want to get my stuff from the shower I should be done by the time you get back."

The shocked expression I received was unexpected. "You think you are going to have everything you need ready within a couple minutes? You only have school supplies packed so far, it's going to take at least half an hour."

"It's not like it takes long to put a few shirts in a bag, calm down. Plus if I need anything I can just come back, it's not that far away." I give her a quizzical look and shrug off her dramatics, as usual. Why does she have to be such a girl sometimes? I don't think she understands how much she blows things out of proportion sometimes.

She huffs as she walks out of my room and down the hall to collect any toiletries. I grab about ten pairs of each type of clothing and call it good as I zip up the last bag. On cue, Desiree walks back into my room with a small shower caddie. "Let's get it loaded then."

"Alrighty then." I grab two bags in each hand and instantly realize just how weak I am. Desiree laughs that loud obnoxious laugh that only a mother could love and grabs two of the bags. "There is no need to mock me, little miss always had a note to skip gym."

"I get plenty of work outs in other ways." She gives me a wink and quickly walks out of my room.

I follow her downstairs and see my parents sitting in the living room. "Hey, we were just about to go get settled in to the dorm." I tell my parents, hoping that this won't turn into an ordeal.

"That's not gonna happen, cupcake." My dad doesn't even look up from his paper. I know he is joking, so I play along in order to get this done with as soon as possible. "And why is that not going to happen, dear father?"

My father gives a quick look to my mother before standing up and walking to me. Maybe he wasn't joking when he said it wasn't going to happen and go tense. "You can't just leave without a proper send off." I let out a sigh of relief and a half-hearted laugh. "Did you really think we were going to let you ship off without so much as a hug goodbye?" He pulls me into a hug and my mom joins in.
