Chapter 1

I sat there at the café table, waiting for my coffee and cake that I ordered. I stared at a girl with red hair; she was sitting in a booth on the other side of the room. She seemed familiar, like as if I've met her before... I couldn't really put a finger on it. I eventually realised she was looking at me. I looked away but not before a rush of energy flowed through me. I felt my eyes subtly change colour. She must have some sort of power. I think I just copied some of it. A rush of emotions flooded through me. Oh my God she's an empath. I felt like laughing my head off right at that moment, I felt so bad that she had to deal with this 24/7. About six people in here had the hots for someone and another two were on the verge of tears. I think I'm gonna have a mental breakdown in a minute if I don't break the connection with me and red head. God damn copycat abilities! A waitress came and set down what I ordered, "Thank you" she smiled at me as she walked back to the counter. I gently sipped my coffee as I slowly broke the connection, my eyes returning back to normal. Red head was still looking at me. Screw off.

Once I finished my food, I left some money and a tip and left the café. It was almost sun set. I rolled my eyes and mutter some exertions as I strolled towards my tiny house, by tiny I mean two bedrooms and a joint lounge and kitchen. It's nice for one person. I entered my home and set down my purse. I love being 19. I dropped down onto the couch and layed there for a solid ten minutes until I had an urge to go to the casino. I rolled my eyes, why do I like to gamble. I chuckled to myself as I gave in to my urges and made towards the casino.

I quickly checked how much money I had in my purse. Eh, I have enough. I entered the casino in my black jeans and white hoodie. I immediately saw Red head sitting at the poker table, I swear I'm seeing her everywhere. I felt the rush of energy as my eyes changed colour. I am so done with this. It wasn't the empathy I had just copied, however. I didn't really know what it was. Who cares, I'll find out later. I sat down at the black jack table. I'm always good at this game, even if it is just luck. I was dealt a King of spades and a 6 of hearts. The person to my right tapped for another card. He put down his cards in frustration. I tapped for another card. 5 of clubs. I put down my cards. I'm not complaining. I won that round. I collected the money and moved on from that table. I think I'll just get a drink. I nearly dropped my purse but I felt invisible strings come out from my hand and grabbed it quickly before it hit the ground. Holy hell red head has telekinesis. I'm officially jealous.

I made my way to the bar. "Hey, can I have um... a lemonade?" The lady behind the bar nodded and rushed to get me a drink. A man in his early twentied with electric blue eyes stood next to me. I felt a rush of energy flow through me once again. He's got some sort of power too. My eyes had changed to a different colour once again. The lady came back with my drink. "Can I have a glass of water with some limes, a lot of limes" The woman blushed as she got his drink with a sense of urgency. She's got the hots for him. I rolled my eyes as I sipped on my drink. The atmosphere seemed tense. It felt as if there was an unwanted presence around here. For the love of all things unholy I just want to end this day so bad right now.

I turned around to look for the source of the unwanted presence. I saw a very large rats tail slip into the vents in the ceiling. I rolled my eyes as I let a small chuckle escape from my lips. As I siped my drink I saw my eyes reflection. I froze, they were purple. Oh god I bet everyone will be staring at me like I'm some weirdo or something. I finished dm drink in one go and left it on the bar table as I made my way towards the exit, breaking the connection between Red head and Blue eyes.

I walked through the parking lot as I danced to nothing whatsoever. I guess I just love the nighttime. It's so peaceful and quiet, rarely anything ever happens. I think I've just jinxed it. Whatever. I couldn't be bothered at this point. I heard a small crash come from inside the casino. Looks like someone did a failed runner. I laughed out loud, I bet I sounded like a crazy psychopath, but I didn't care. I slowly strolled through the parking lot and made my way down the road.

I heard a man's cry for help from somewhere near the casino parking lot. I stopped, debating whether I should get myself involved or not. I decided to help or to at least see what was going on. When I got there, I hid behind a car just in time to see Red head running after a man who was being dragged by something. I looked to see what he was being dragged by and instantly regretted it. It was a hideous gargoyle. I faintly know about them. Not enough to survive an attack from one though. I watched as Red head grabbed the gargoyles neck by a telekinetic lasso and fling it away. Screw it I'm helping. I slowly came out from behind the car and made a fire ball in the palm of my hand. I aimed it for the beast's face and launched it, hitting it directly between it's ugly ass eyes. Red head looked behind me and froze as she saw me. I stood there awkwardly as well. I quickly sent another fire ball to the gargoyle when it tried to grab the man once again. Red head stopped standing there and started to help. I carefully opened a tear in space. I never use this ability but I think it will be useful if I'm going to get to the man without the gargoyle seeing me. I felt a hand on my shoulder. "You're not going anywhere" Blue eyes. I closed the tear and stared at him directly in his eyes. I felt a rush of energy flow through me once again. My eyes were purple once again. I copied his telekinesis. He looked at me in slight confusion. I smirked as I turned around back towards the gargoyle in time to see it try to take a bite out of Red head. I used a telekinetic lasso and threw it further down the street with extreme control. Blue eyes then went all fire crazy on the gargoyle trying to keep it in one place.

I made a taer once again in space and jumped through it. I appeared above the gargoyle. I think I did it slightly off. Never mind. I used my telekinesis to grab onto the gargoyle as I fell a good twenty feet as I swung around it's neck and landed on it's back. I held in a laugh as it tried to get me off. I noticed Blue eyes look at me in slight confusion, but he still continued to keep the monster in one place. Red head used her telekinesis to hold it in one place, she was struggling a lot. I took advantage of this and jumped if the beast's back. Once I was off, Blue eyes started placing green gems around the beast. They created a sort of trap that kept it in place. Blue eyes took out a mason jar and set it next to the gargoyle. He muttered a few words and the monster got sucked in. It was now a black smoke.

I sat down on the ground in sweat. I'm never helping out like that again. "I thought I said to keep the man where he was" Blue eyes said to Red head, "I did-" she saw the man trying to do a runner down the street. I think I'm gonna do the sale, I felt quite awkward in this situation. I bolted the other direction, too scared to open another portal in fear of ending up falling like I did a moment ago. "Hey! Purple eyes!" I heard the man say. Screw him I just want to go home. I suddenly stopped, I couldn't control myself. His god damn TELEKINESIS! I turned around to him. Well shit, I think this plan failed...
